GoW Lancer, wait, this one IMO blows the other one away...

I just started repainting mine. Did one side bloody one side clean so if I don't want the gore, I can just flip it. :)

All I did was paint (weather) over the existing paint job so it was fairly easy. I think it looks MUCH better.

WOW! That is an impressive improvement!!! I sure wish I had painting skills like that.

I haven't noticed in the thread any mention of the annoying battery compartment problem that seems to be a design flaw with this piece. With the three C batteries installed as instructed, I got no audio on pulling the trigger. A quick internet search showed that this is a problem lots and lots of people have encountered. It seems that the shape of the battery compartment prevents the top-most battery's positive side from making contact. People reported fixing this by wedging aluminum foil or a paper clip between the battery and the contact. I tried the paper clip approach and after some fiddling got it to work. If this is indeed a pervasive design flaw I am amazed it got to market that way. Apologies if this was already covered here somewhere.

Impressive, what's your method? How did you re-do the blood color?

Looks great, Griefboy :thumbsup

I don't mind the blood on mine, so much (I may add varying shades to make it a little more realistic), but I'd love to make the rifle a little more metallic looking.

OK...this is how I did it.

Clean the gun with alcohol to get rid of any surface contaminates.

Airbrush black acrylic over most of the gun, especially the saw blade to hide that awful florescent blood.

While the paint it still wet, wipe off as much as you want to give it a good weathered effect. This will leave black paint in all the recessed area and will really bring out the details.

Spray silver Hammerite paint on to a piece of cardboard and dip a cloth into it. Rub the cloth on the raised areas of the gun to give them a dual silver look. This is dry brushing so make sure the cloth has very little paint on it. You don't want to slather on the silver!

Once everything is dry, fine tune areas with a Scotch-Brite pad. I also give it a coat of clear matte acrylic to give it some durability.

Blood - I use clear red model paint you can find at any hobby shop. Just make sure it's clear, that makes the difference! Oh, and do not spray the matte finish over the blood. That will ruin the effect!

That's pretty much it. Easy... go to it! :)

ya, I went there yesteday and checked. They have it for $119. Im thinking of getting it. Im not too into Game props, but this is pretty neat so I think I am going to get it.

Ive got your back bro. I just bought one and they had one more in stock. They said they can transfer it to your local FYE and you don't even have to pay for shipping. Ill pm you my FYE's store number.

Ive just finished removing the Red gunk from the gun . Took forever. The good news is that it comes off with denatured Alcohol and the rest of the paint is unaffected. The bad news id that t takes FOREVER to come off.

Ive opened my lancer u in order to add a few touches like light and also to be able to repaint the whole thing. Neca reeeeaaally didnt want this thing to come apart. They covered all the screws with plastic screws which are glued on. Some I had to remove by cutting out. Ill just cast a few replacements . Another pint where they pretty much locked it together is the large flathead looking thing on the side is. They actually screwed that in from the inside with a screw that has no slot. Yep , its just a smooth top. ever seen one like that before. Thank goodness I only messed up one of the large round parts so I have the other side to cast from . Geez, If id known they had done it this way would not have started opening it. I think it will be rewarding in the end.
Gonna go for this look :
