GoW Lancer, wait, this one IMO blows the other one away...

Yep, just the lancer.

I have been on the fence about getting one (didn't really love GOW but hot damn that gun looks cool!!!).

I am not sure if the other guns are amazon exclusives though...

Here is another Amazon exclusive the Head shot Locust Figure
you get the figure and a set of Gears of War COG Tags
for $19.99

Got a notification from Amazon, the Lancer and GOW2 game is on it's way. I should have 'em in by the first of next week. Anyone else get theirs?

If no pics have been posted by the time I get mine, I snap and few and post 'em here.

-B89! :D

I actually got GOW2 yesterday from Amazon... but had to wait until 10PM to play it after work anyway.

The Lancer came today, just about 20 minutes ago in fact. Pretty nice actually. I'll see about taking some pics.

I got my game this morning at best buy with the RC tank
that will not move across a carpeted floor.
and my notice from amazon states the lancer should arrive on Monday :confused
but who knows I may get it today.
And the Head shot Locust Figure with the set of Gears of War COG Tags
should be delivered Nov 17th.

Yeah I heard about the possiblity of some sort of recall on the tank for the BB exclusive. That's total balls, sorry dude.

Here's just a few quick and dirty pics with the thing not even completely unpackaged. Sorry I'm at work and don't really have time to get too fancy and don't want to alarm and of the folks in my office. It came shipped in a big cardboard box with foam inserts on either end and no documentation that I can see. The box actually has some instructions and diagrams for inserting batteries so I'm guessing there is no paper docs.

The paintjob isn't stellar but I won't complain at the price. The construction seems nice enough. This thing does not seem to weigh the 17 pounds they quoted. I'd weigh it but someone made off with the darn postal scale.

I saw the gold version on another board, and it looked kinda cheesy. On one hand I love tacky items, but not so much guns...

A little paint and this sucker won't be bad at all!!!!

FWIW UPS quotes mine as weighing 9 lbs (And incoming, God bless amazon prime! 3.99 overnight shipping!)

UPS just delivered mine, and its a nice display piece.
I just un-packed it put the foam inserts back in the box and tossed the box into basement and did not even look for instructions.
I believe it takes C-batteries to make the chain saw sound
I do not believe that it has any firing sounds.

I think I may need to make a wall display for this beast

Looks fine, but they could have done without the blood I think.
By the way, any idea why the NAS/Triforce version is so overpriced?

I just got mine as well. Needs a new paint job but everything else is awesome. I was just comparing to the high-poly model in the game and it's dead on. When you pull the trigger it sounds like a (loud) chainsaw and it vibrates like crazy. It's about as long as an SST Morita so it's huge!

No clue, but they were officially trumped with this. I want one! Have to wait til payday though. C'est la vie.

Alright, I've finally had a chance to look the lancer over and I really only have one complaint. And that is that the fold out handle is not as strong as I'd like. I'd sooner they made it a bit beefier. I'd beef it up myself but the buggers did a great job hiding all the screws with glued on lancer doo-dads. :lol

I got mine tonight and I have to say, this thing is pretty impressive. It's huge, has a decent heft and incredible detail.

Here are some pics

man, for the price you can't beat it. Great display peice, and cheap enough the kids can play with it...I'm training my cog army!

I agree though, the side handle and the clip holder are a little flimsy and are most likely gonna be the first to break

So anyone got any thoughts of a way to display this thing? It's so big I'd like to wall mount it somehow to save space.

Funny you should ask, as I was planning this since I found out months ago
when the pre-sale started. but needed to wait until I had the rifle.
so I would get the size right.
For my self I was thinking of the gears of war cog logo with the skull inside and blood dripping one.
And making a two foot maybe two and a half foot 2D wall plaque
that the lancer would either hang across or just slightly under the cog.

Was planning on making it out of a thick sheet of foam sealed with a
hard resin shell mounted to a piece of MDF board I have.

My plan was to print the logo out on clear film, then cutting away all of
the clear area around the black logo. Laying the cut out on the foam
spraying the foam with any type of primer so it slightly melts the
un-covered foam. Then using my hot wire foam cutter to cut out the cog
shape and add some detail, cover with a resin foam coat, mounting the
cog to a cut out MDF cog..... you get the idea.

Now I just need to get up off my lazy arse and do it.

I also plan on sand etching a beer mug and a a tall double shot glass
with the same logo, I may even etch a empty bottle of yeager also
just because I think the cog logo with the skull would look cool etched
on a green yeager bottle.

Man this thing is awesome. Only 2 complaints.

1: HORRIBLE design for a gun. Has a scope but no buttstock, and all the weight is on your wrist. igh. That and the area where you put your hand behind the chainsaw is kinda tiny. So, in other words, what works as a cool drawing kinda sucks as a "carry around" weapon.

2: Package said batteries included, but they lied :(

I think I can live with that :)

So.. other than it not being a real rifle and having to shell out about 3$ for batteries, this thing is friggin SWEET. I can't wait to figure out how to wall mount it, cause this ******* is heavy! Might alter the paint job a bit, or add in some "meaty bits" in the chainsaw area. The only worse paintjob I have seen was the actual gold colored lancer.

Hell of a late birthday gift :D
