Here's a sneak peak of the upper barrel mod for the nerf quad blaster. This will be cast in smooth-cast 325 with black pigment. Both slide easily in to the barrels of the nerf gun.

Looks a lot closer to the movie blasters now eh?

It will be available as a raw cast and as a finished painted part with blue air brushing at the trips.

There may still be some small changes and tweaks done, I've got to let the first set cure so I can send them off to IronManiac for his approval. Once that's complete we'll settle on a price and update the run so stay tuned.

Color me interested on a set for upper and bottom barrels, depending on price of course! But seriously, this is looking pretty epic.

How does the upper barrel assembly work? I assume you need to mod the original gun to accommodate it?

That is correct, if you look at your blaster you'll notice a scored line. You simply cut on that line, then slide in the new mod.

The lower nozzle however requires no modification at all, you simply drop it in.

The lower taser nozzle was modeled in CAD and 3d printed, tuned up, and molded. The upper is a combination of 3d printed parts, glue, clay, apoxyscult, etc. Then I made a mold and cast it in resin.

I want to get IronManiac's feedback before we set a price. I cast four of these yesterday but they needed time to cure. It'll probably be some time next week before we set a price.

vecna I'll let you know. I shipped IronManiac the buck for the upper part for him to do some detail work on. It was coming out "OK" but not "GREAT" which is why we strive for.
I expect to get the final back after Christmas. Once that's done I'll make the final mold and open up the run and post shipping details.

sweet.....I love the fact that it's for the nerf gun. hollow out of the box= room for electronics. That's the only reason I haven't bought one of the many blaster kits in circulation......Someone should get on that........

Hey all, just wanted to do a quick update. We wanted to make your nerf blasters more movie accurate, without having to do a whole lot of difficult modifcation to your gun.

Based on this, you can see there's a black underlay between the barrel and the barrel tip. You can also see that there is an chrome inner barrel that sticks out of the main barrel. We want to replicate this look for the nerf gun. We spent some time making a new blaster nozzle by hand, but it wasn't quite where we wanted it.

I decided to model it in 3d so we can print it.

What you see here is a new barrel tip that replaces the end of your nerf blaster. To use this, you would need to cut the nerf gun's barrel off at the end. Its a quick and easy mod. This design will also have two pegs on the back. You just insert the pegs into your nerf barrels and it is locked into the right spot.

We'll post more pics after we print and finish this new design. I added a little purple & blue to the render to show how the finished piece could look. :)

One more thing...you could easily drill into this new nozzle piece and embed LED's for more blaster action! Let us know if you're interested and we'll add you to our list! Thanks!

Cool... interested in two sets... maybe four... if combined shipping to Australia is not too expensive.

How about doing the flange on the grip also?

We'll look into combined shipping and let you know. It probably shouldn't be a problem since these pieces are relatively small.

We printed off the new blaster last night, here's a peek. We'll be sanding and smoothing it next to get it ready to mold. Won't be long now!
