GodenEye Decoder :: WENO Custom Workshop

Last Summer I paid for a GoldenEye decoder to be built by WENO (before he was banned from this forum) and have been trying to get him deliver ever since.

Did anybody get one? Think there's any hope of me receiving one?

I realize it's likely a lost cause and I'm out the money ... I just needed to vent ...

Occasionally I've seen some of his creations, including the Goldeneye decoder, up on ebay (see below), although it doesn't look like he has anything up at the moment. Perhaps you can try contacting him through his workshop's facebook page, which also looks like it hasn't been in use in a while.

Past Goldeneye Decoder auction:

James Bond 007 GoldenEye Door Decoder Prop | eBay

I was the "winner" of the that July listing.

I guess I should be glad I don't make and sell props myself; seems like a recipe for disaster. Near every thing I've tried to buy gets held up by a heart attack or a divorce or a child custody battle or bad weather or alimony payments or bankruptcy or a car accident or ...

Either I'm the unluckiest person on the planet or they are ... :unsure

.........................gets held up by a heart attack or a divorce or a child custody battle or bad weather or alimony payments or bankruptcy or a car accident or ...

aint that the truth. I see stuff like this posted all the time!!!

I start seeing 'any' of the BS (I call them BS because regardless of truth or BS,..they have no business doing props/taking money at that time, IMHO)

if a project is 'projected' to take longer than 30-45 days.. I pass or pas ONLY at time of completion now.. (no more missing out on the PayPal 45 day limit)

if posts and updates start lacking any 'real' content..or no updates/post at all.. I pass or initiate PayPal refund/dispute..

Im starting to add more 'red flags' to my list too..

such as people who want to get paid half up front....or need the money to buy materials (what did they do with any of money from other runs or their jobs then?) <---- this one depends on THE members and THE prop (long term member, in good status/rep..as well as the project..etc)

I feel its only fair to hold them to certain rules or standards..and if they dont/cant comply.. too bad.
if INT threads are left empty & blank/devoid of posts (interest) they'll get the picture to get their acts together and get organize, get some principles and be responsible.. or they just wont last long on here.

:)

sorry to hear another member got scammed (again) :(

Add me to the list of those who ordered this prop and still haven't gotten it! I have been in monthly contact through e-mail with this guy and keep getting some excuse as to why it hasnt been sent. I thought they were in hand when I originally ordered it and was extremely dissappointed when that was not the case. I haven't given up yet and hope to see this some time.

Just wanted to advise that as the official licensee for James Bond props that if you want quality replicas buy from the legitimate and official source.

Don't support bootleggers!

Earlier today we were contacted by Weno posing as a customer who had allegedly purchased one of our official GoldenEye replicas but needed spare parts for it because it was broken. But in a way that was impossible under normal use. It was immediately clear something was odd Thanks to the RPF we were aware of him and the fact that he emailed us from wenoscustomcreations email address was something of a giveaway.

But we decided to bait him and see how far he would carry the deception... and lets just say it got ridiculous. we have to say contacting the official licensee to try and buy spare parts to fulfill bootleg commissions takes some pretty big stones! WOW... nice job! Its this kind of behavior that ruins this hobby and makes offering good customer service really tough as you start mistrusting everybody!

We hate this type of thing. We also hate that other people have been screwed. If you have been affected by this please contact us and let us know. support@factoryent.com

WOW! Just Wow. I got an e-mail from Weno apologizing for the delay-and then offering me a moonraker wrist gun replica he is making as a replacement. Needless to say I asked for photos of the item but only recieved a link to some CAD drawings which included a Black Version of the moonraker rifle. I am shocked(but not surprised) to hear that he is sourcing parts to complete his replica. As a customer of Factory Ent. who has been extremely happy with the Bond items they produce I must say that I have learned my lesson with buying from an unknown source and will be extremely cautious in the future. Still haven't given up on getting the decoder one day-but am not holding my breath.

Having finally been able to get a complete address for WENOS (it's not on his site and eBay wouldn't give it out even though I've filed a claim with PayPal), I've opened a case with the New Jersey BBB.

Interestingly, within hours I got the following VoiceMail:
"Is this [MY NAME]? ***** you!"

The number was blocked but I have a fair idea of who the caller was ...

Please note that my order was placed before he was banned from the RPF; his eBay feedback was good and I had no reason to believe at the time I was being ripped-off.

Regardless of the outcome here, there will always be something of a clash between licensees and lone replicators, whether it be Bond or Star Wars or Marvel or ...

An update:

Mr.Loia has apparently been able to take time from a cross-country relocation and simultaneous child custody battle (a period during which he posted vacation updates to twitter) to produce a "working" Moonraker wrist gun.

I've been advised I can buy the wrist gun (which I assume will take another year) or another Bond prop but that the decoder will still be awhile ...

Sheesh, this guy's real talent, apparently, is concocting excuses ...

I would stay away from Mr.Loia he has ripped off any people claiming to have items for sale and not making good on it.

I have his Defib molds for sale- if anyone wants them
