Gladiator movie helmet build

So after months of not doing any type of costume work or art, (I was in a slump I guess) I've gotten back on the horse! And I'm starting off with my first ever helmet sculpt!

Right now I'm still mostly just getting the basic shape down, and then will go over it all again and refine it much more. However, I would love tips, and pointers if you have any because I'm really not the greatest yet with clay.

I feel like everything is much too big for the face, so I think I'll thin it all out tomorrow.

Time for some updates!

I finally got back to this sculpt, right now I'm in the process of molding it but I do have some in progress photos.

I know it's actually a bit uneven in a few spots but I decided I didn't want to mess with it anymore and just go ahead with the mold, if I'm really unhappy with it I'll just do it again.

Also, don't mind my weird as **** way of making a mold..
