GI JOE 2: Retaliation Trailer up!

The problem I have with that Storm Shadow costume, as a martial artist, is that tail would only get in your way if you had to kick backwards. It's not the best Ninja outfit for fighting. It might have a split down the back, which would be better though. I still like the action figures versions better.

Most of the stuntmen for the Batman films just worked with the cape and figured out how to back kick and side kick in ways to not get tangled. That coat tail looks like it would require less figuring to work around and, depending on your style, the split may get in the way by providing two things to avoid as opposed to a single back piece. I've done martial arts in a lot of different costumes and with a little practice you can get around just about anything. I had to do a back rising kick from a "at ease" standing start in gear similar to LoTR Elf Cloak and armor. It can be done.

Wazoo, you're my hero, you should post vids of all this awesomeness!:cool
I was looking at some free running moves today, some of it was deceptively simple looking:confused
Of course we are talking about a ninja who wears a very non-practical white outfit, I still love the design, regardless.:thumbsup

This may be one of the rare exceptions of movies where the 2nd one is much better than the first. I enjoyed the 1st one but this one I'm really looking forward too.

I'm so happy that they actually built a HISS instead of relying on CG. Looks very similar to the current toy design too...Hasbro should have no problems re-tooling to make it look more like this.

I agree - given the design, I'm just glad that they kept the iconic shape of the tracks from the original cartoon style. There's enough original design + modernized style upgrade to please everyone.

:thumbsup

...though I think it would have been cool to see the original designed realized.

I don't know when they did that one - but I've always been a fan of the original.

I'm re-watching season 1 now and I've got to say, that cartoon STILL has longevity!!

That is the ver. 5, my son got it for "his" birthday....:lol

This is the version 6, for the Retaliation movie, also sweet looking and includes a Cobra Commander, cuz he likes tanks.

Thanks, crabra comander! I've been thinking alot about the 1980's Joes of late not only because of the movie but...OK, not to go into too much detail but here we go:

Around 1982 a family restaurant opened and my family started going there regularly, it was a bit of a drive and there was originally a Child World walking distance from it which became a Toys R Us. We'd go to have dinner and then walk it off by going to the toy store after. I got almost all of my Joe toys there. That restaurant closed and went out of business a few months back and I only found out last week. A lot of memories came back thinking about and many of them involved my Joe collection.

This thread's been helping keep those childhood memories warm. Thanks guys.

I picked up a 25th Anniversary version of the Commando version of Snake Eyes. The figure doesn't seem as durable as the orginals but the detail is insane. He's staring at me cooly from a corner of my computer desk.

"Hearing that GI Joe: Retaliation is moving from June 29 to March 29! That's a 9 month change. And it's being converted to 3D!"

'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' Moving To March 2013 To Add 3D For Bigger Foreign Box Office - Deadline.com

Wow..one month before the release they decide to go 3D pushing the movie to next year.

NOOOOOOO! I don't want 3D, damnit! :angry

Maybe the juggernaut that is the Avengers scared them and they realized they'd never come close to making that kind of money. Either way, this severely pisses me off!

My guess to what the actual reason they are moving it is because between The Avengers, Prometheus, and Dark Knight, everything else is going to suffer. I think we're going to see a number of movies that otherwise would have done well, not do so well this summer. And they figure, why not convert while we delay it.
