Don't bite your nails, its not sanitary

I'm in the middle of molding the calf gauntlet thing. Not sure what the actual name for the part
but will mold the other half over the weekend and hope to get some castings made. This will complete the leg armor.
Next week I will start making some costumes for haunted house so I will be on and off on this project.

I got the tail sword armature made and now all it needs is some clay on it. Gonna use some hard automotive clay for this part so that
over the summer when I mold it the clay won't just melt. The rest of the back plate armature is done its still going to be back plate like Wolf (Sorry Alex)

Anyway back to work. Thanks for all your comments.

Hey man good to see you back on that haunted house,i am deep into one as well maybe we could share some pics soon.

Ah the results of my Hard work. I probably lost some years off my life molding and casting this thing... just kidding
Molding it the matrix mold was tedious but trains my chops in making nice and incredibly heavy molds. Using the plaster was cheaper than resins to make a mother mold.

It was tricky to cast the damn thing. Had to slush both halves of the mold and fiberglass it. I need a more thicker resin, the liquid one I have is just tough to work with.
Need to use in small amounts to slowly build up layers then fiberglass it. Then piece the 2 halves together and pour the liquid inside and repeat the process.
-Phew

Here's the Alien Tail sword process. This shows you how to create a relatively light weight prop or armature that you can either sculpt for molding and casting or make a one off piece.

Ghoul Hunter's Leg Gauntlet.

So here it is after like 2 months of hard work of designing, sculpting and molding.
I just spray some silver paint on the latex Boots (yes they are latex with fiberglass backing to make it rigid) and did some simple staining.
There's only so much you can do in a day. I trimmed and patched it, sanded it, primed it, painted it, stained it and attached it all together to see how its gonna look.
I'll work on it more tomorrow - now I gotta lay down.

Based in your illustrational design, sculpting Mike you never miss a single detail, and you are spot on with your work from start 2 finish.

Thanks man. Wish I spent more time sculpting the thing. There were a lot more detail I want to put into it. But had to finish it and move on.
