Limited Run Ghostbusters Jumpsuit (7 versions!) by Magnoli Clothiers

Ni disrespect, but I would imagine that many of the people paying for these suits would prefer to have a patch that matched the first film....as opposed to a patch that got 10 minutes of screen time.

I'm eventually going to do a GB2 party scene uniform but I'l just use a standard off the shelf patch for that. If I'm going to have a GB1 ripstop...I'd rather have an accurate patch....I'd imagine most people are the same

Abaka— No, I totally agree. And I love the work that’s been done to refine the GB1 patch. I’m just pointing out that there’s a second “style” of patch for us to obsess over, especially since already has a more idealized patch designed.

I also agree that the GB2 patch needs strong red borders.

And, is the ghost made of white canvas? There’s a definite texture there.

Oh man, those look fantastic!
I'm sure others will chime in here with feedback but that looks like it's exactly what I'm looking for in a wonky screen accurate styled GB1 patch.

I pre-ordered a GB1 last night!

Does anyone know if these measurements are about the same as the Tru-Spec suits a lot of GBers get?

Sean

Those patches are excellent - I'm glad the feedback was listened to, and as one of the most vocal complainers of them thus far. I like them!

I think we're there! Some wonky patch goodness:

The execution on making them look wonky is great, though I do feel that the wonkiness of them circle is an artifact in the photos of it being attached to the uneven laying fabric. The ghost being “hand drawn” looking makes some sense but I have a hard time believing the designer who created the art for embroidery would make a mess of a circle. Just my opinion/thoughts on it of course. Looking at the relative position of where the edges of the outer circle meet the hands and such of the ghost, they look more like a circle distorted by an uneven surface rather than an uneven circle on a flat surface. If that makes sense.

I’m glad the community input has been well-received, and it’s led to a fantastic product.

That said, I still think the GB2 patch used canvas instead of felt.

On white, it looks a bit dark, but it could just be the background it's on. Got any photos of it in a natural environment/on a person?

It looks actually good....Light plays a big part on the colur of these suits even more than the Khaki.....I'm not invested in the dark GB2 suit so I won't input too much here as it's better that those who have invested lend their thoughts. To me though, that picture shows it to be very close to Gibson & Barnes dark grey suit which to me is a perfect resemblance of the GB2 suits - different lighting can make the suit look navy etc.....

For info - Here's a pic of my GB2 suit from Gibson & Barnes - Each pic shows it in a different colour which is equally perfect and frustrating lol

That's a great question. I'd sure like to know how they compare to Gibson & Barnes measurements, for instance.
Bumping this because I think it's important for ordering.

Also, how about dr_slurpee's question above? Shouldn't the circle on the patch be actually a circle?

I don't have a G&B to compare to, we're just using the measurement chart for standard jumpsuits. Once we start knocking these out, we'll have a better idea of how sizing compares in general to other makers.

As for the patch, the originals were not perfect circles, so we're mimicking the wonkiness of those. Our design was copied from a flat-bed scan of an original patch, so there was no distortion at all.

Hmmm...I ordered my GB1 suit based on the size of my other flight suits, but those seem to already take into account that the suits are intended to be worn over other clothing. Is that taken into account with yours as well, or should I perhaps try to change to a size larger if there's still time? I had assumed they would be pretty standard fit for flight suits.

Not to be a pain, but the artwork sample you posted and the patch look to be a copy from the photo AZspidey posted. All the photos I have seen or original patches imply that the circle is actually circular just distorted in photos by the fabric. Even Anovos (who as I understand it had access to one of the real patches made the circle round.

Of course I could be completely wrong but I find it quite odd as a graphic designer that another graphic designer would make a circle so far off. I’d be super curious to see the scan of a real one showing it.

I agree, the pathc should be a perfect circle. The wonkyness is on the details.....

Also as for the question on G&B Suits. If you have no idea how they compare how come you responded with this on FB.

If my suit does not fit or is comparitvely sized to the G&B after I asked the question, I will be returning the item and I WILL NOT be covering return shipping, so it's in your interest to be honest with this question.

Btw, any progress with the Herringbone fabric for the GB2 suits.
