Ghostbusters Costume

Last year I decided to try doing a Ghostbusters costume, as an X-Wing pilot we are called Ghostbusters more often than you'd think...
For about as long as I've been dressing up as Rebel Pilot Jek Porkins I have been called a Ghostbuster. I remind them that the Ghostbusters wear their packs in the back, but what can you do?

So I figured, what the heck I might as well become a Paranormal Investigator and run around Buffalo with an unlicensed nuclear particle accelerator on my back for fun.
I started on the pack first, and at the time the Haslab Pack was not available yet so I went the Spirit Halloween route.

For the suit, I went with what was readily available, Tru-Spec tan flightsuit. Not 100% accurate but passable.

I also got my Haslab Spengler's Proton pack, and after some minor modifications, I'm happy with the result.

Haha the story behind the costume is really funny. I never heard about that before, people in my area know the difference between an x-wing pilot and a ghostbuster BUT Everytime I wear my starlord costume there is at least one person screaming "ANTMAN!" .

I am still deciding if I want to do a Ghostbuster costume, too.. I am so in love with Ghostbusters Afterlife.. hmmm ..

It's a fun and easy costume to do with off the rack items. I have the Haslab pack, but I don't think that will make it to many cons. The Spirit pack is smaller, lighter and more durable for that.

The Haslab pack is going to be for special occasions, photos or controlled situations where moving through a crowd is not an issue. I recently did an event at the local science museum, and even with a handler we had trouble moving around with the full sized packs on.

The back is from Redman Studios Workshop

The previous pictures I posted are of the Full-sized Spirit Halloween pack with Spongeface's mod kit and Redman's Aluminum back and frame hardware. (So much lighter and looks pretty good) I built this pack for my daughter and wanted to test it out.

Rather than cut the hole in the back, I opted to mount the battery box outside on the frame.

I'm really happy with the results...

I finished modding the Neutrona Wand to the Frozen Empire version.

Got the new upside down PKE Meter holster and the new radio from Frozen Empire

I'm just waiting for a black belt to complete my Engineering Corps version.
