Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Well Bill did make an appearance in full GB gear for an awards show and he did make a cameo in ‘16. So maybe he has in fact changed his mind. It wouldn’t be the same without Billy.

I hope they do a good job honoring Harold. Not a random statue Easter egg in the background

I don’t know what Murray’s problem is... you know what he would do for the GB community if he did?

And how the hell does that make any sense if he’s saying he won’t show himself in any GB film he doesn’t expect?

... he was in that abortion we got in 2016...

I don’t get this man
There’s a really long story out there on how he was practically coerced into appearing in GB16.
I think his stance is very much like John Carpenter’s with Halloween after 1978, it’s a done thing and sees no point in stretching it, he even turned down H20 in 1998. Then again JC just took part in the latest installment so there ya go.

I don’t want to see ghost Egon...

My perfect little cameo for him would be the camera panning over a desk, or book shelf with some of rays occult books, framed GB news paper articles, then a framed picture of egon with the PKE beside the picture.. done

if this promo trailer is in the film then I have a small break down of the trailer
I'm assuming the glow in the night sky is the moon but if not, maybe glow is some huge paranormal activity in New York city. Maybe a portal busted open in the sealed closed down GB head quarters. Maybe a character from GB 1 opens the portal.
The barn is outside the city / country side.
Someone in the barn is trying to power up a proton pack for some sort of emergency, maybe connected to the glow in the sky, if the glow is not the moon.

what you guys think, did I crack the code?

I'm excited about this, and then I'm not. I'm sorry, been burnt before by Crystal Skulls, Ghostbusters Reboots, and Star Wars let downs. I want to be positive about this and I really want this to be good but great fandoms have been crapped on so much through the past. I don't want a teenage new team, just give us the original guys hiring on new grown adult slobs like they were when they started.

Jason Reitman Is Directing 'Ghostbusters 3,' And It's All Your Fault

No mention of the e-mails, or how fans got treated....

Ghostbusters: Answer the call, aka GB16 didn't fail because it was a new (gender swapped) cast, it failed because it just wasn't funny. The article lost me when they just had to point out that Jason Reitman is a white male. Gasp. Like that's a crime these days, how dare he.

Write good movies, and people won't complain. Those who complain, the very few who didn't like GB16 BECAUSE of the female cast, are so inconsequential. GBIII isn't giving THEM what they want, it's giving franchise fans what they want.

He goes on to complain that Reitman has made films that bombed completely at the box office. I hadn't heard of any of them. Studios don't advertise those things, they focus their advertising on their sure winners. In other words their franchise IPs and big budget blockbusters that are going to bring in the big bucks.

This article is drivel at its worst, I never did follow any clear and concise message. Hack journalism, what a surprise.

While the author of the article does come across as being a SJW he does make some good points. He makes a very good point about people (esp. a lot of people here on the RPF) about endless reboots, sequels, and prequels from Hollywood but points out how few people saw a whole slew of original movies thus reinforcing Hollywood's desire to only make movies based on established IPs. Then there's Jason Reitman's track record which doesn't look too good; but being the son of the director of the original might just make him the right choice for this movie.

I will say that this movie definitely has the potential to be what GB '16 should have been and will hopefully serve as a soft reboot for the franchise. This movie could very well do for Ghostbusters what Jurassic World did for the Jurassic Park franchise and revitalize an old franchise.

I like how they divert attention from a bad film and blame it on racism and sexism being a real reason.
I noticed that site linked above has a number of articles on the upcoming film, but with photo galleries from the 2016 film. It's like they're trying to downplay the new one and highlight the 2016 one.
