Getting started on the Astro Fighter Sunred helmet

Since it's con season i decided to dress up this year, and i decided to go as one of my favorite anime characters Astro Fighter Sunred.

However, my experience with making costumes is very limmited as i've never attempted to do this advanced of a project before.
I'm currently using the program Pepekura and so far i think i've gotten the basic shape down, but i'm still working on the size.

My plan is to print this over at a shop that can print on large cardstock paper, then take it home to cut it out put it together and apply bondo, sand it, and fiberglass it.

Anyone have any thoughts on my work so far? :confused

Sounds great, but this seems to be a more obscure character. Do you probably have any pictures of that character so we know what you are talking about and can give some decent advice?
