I am doing a General Kael Helmet, and the face piece is not accurate at all (its just sculpy over a 8 dollar mask) I would like your opinions on how to improve it. and how to build the helmet part.

Re: I would like your opinion

Hi,

looks good in my opinion, especially if the bottom pic is a reference pic. I don´t know where your doubts might stem from ?

:thumbsup

P.S.: You might want to change your thread title to include "General Kael" to attract more viewers. A lot of members don´t look at threads with unspecific titles. ;)

actually the bottom pic is what it currently looks like. This is what the movie version looks like http://www.yourprops.com/norm-4ad6165266fa3-Willow+%281988%29.jpeg

It's looking nice. That wouldn't happen to have been a chrome mask you sculpted over, would it?

I think the top mouth section (the 'ribbed' area between the nose and top set of teeth) could do with being a little wider, and it looks like the bottom set of teeth needs to be extended much further out on both sides.

as a matter of fact it was a gold chrome mask.
I wish I hadn't fiber glassed over it it, otherwise I could make such changes
unfortunately I am stuck with how it is. but I can add to it, but it would be impossible for me to redo the jaw. I'd end up ruining it.

You could make a negative mold out of plaster and then press sculpting clay into it. You´d have a copy of your current mask that could be easily reworked.

i've always wanted to have one of these fastened to my motorcycle helmet.
actually that's very feasible and dress the helmet with chain mail. it would be very bad ass looking.
in fact I am gonna try and make a mold of this and cast several in high impact epoxy resin for mounting on motorcycle helmets. so look for that in the future.
