General Doctor Whoniverse Discussion

Did anyone hear about classic Doctors protesting not being in the 50th outside of the BBC.

One thing I've been wondering since both 10 and Rose are in the special is if this is 10 from the alternate universe. Just because 10 regenerated into 11 in the main universe does not mean it would have happened in the alternate one and could explain how both of them can be together.

Or it could be an altered timeline. Like, because 11 jumped back into his own timeline, now 10 has gone "rogue."

I really hope this is all smoke and mirrors to keep us away from an epic and awsome 50th multi Doctor extravaganza.....because as of right now, I'm fairly underwhelmed with all they have sneeked out and promised!

I am kind of hoping that they focus on a good story and don't try to force more historical references in at the expense of the story. I have been thinking about the fact that the older doctors are not involved. Although I would have loved to see them they all look really old now. The problem is that we already saw them regenerate when they were much younger. I am not sure how that could be done without just having it look like "surprise!!!! here is Baker, and Surprise!!! here is Baker 2" :lol. I would really have like to see Chris Eccleston (Discloser: He was my favorite new doctor) as I think he could have been weaved into the story in a meaningful way but from the old series I think it would have been a mess.

In my opinion , seeing something like Hurt regenerate into Eccleston at the end of the 50th would have really kicked some ass :lol.

It can't be!? I mean, I hope it is Him because that would be... epic!

If you look at some of the behind-the-scenes stuff of the 50th that's been officially released you'll see Ingrid Oliver (of Watson and Oliver) wearing a Doc #4 scarf as part of her costume.

Edit: Quoting from one of the Who News sites http://www.combom.co.uk/2013/09/tom-baker-to-return-as-fourth-doctor.html

UPDATE: The filming is a promotion for Have I Got News For You, and it is Paul Merton who is dressed as the Fourth Doctor, and Ian Hislop as the Seventh Doctor.

Now that it's been mentioned, though, I'm a little curious as to the design of Hurt's sonic...will we see an embryonic version of the Eccleston design, an advanced version of the McGann Big Finish version with the wooden grips, or something entirely new? I tried to find the highest-resolution image I could find of the poster, and it doesn't reveal much apart from the color...

Not bad, until the name "Mark Gatiss" popped up. The watch seems out of place though, given its only use is to make the Doctor not a Time Lord.

I'm pretty sure that Ten is wearing his flatter series 2 hair as this is the point in his timeline that 11 bumps into him.
