General Doctor Whoniverse Discussion

Am I the only one who thinks the new series cybermen are extremly ugly? I like the ones from Earthshock are my favorites.

I don't know about "ugly." But...what happened to them being only defeated with gold in their chest pieces (essentially choking them). That seems to be forgotten in the reboot.

The actress is playing the new companion, so yeah we'll see her again. The companion is named Jenna Oswin (Ozwin?) though, so probably not the same character.

Very cool episode. I get the feeling that the Daleks forgetting about the Doctor is tied to the question that must not be answered. It'll be interesting to see how the Daleks not remembering the Doctor will be such a bad thing.

Her name on the show will be Clara.

You sure she's going by the name Jenna in the show? The actresses name is Jenna.

My mistake, according to some reports it's "Clara." Too many names looked at real quick, I mixed them up (not that actors haven't played characters with the same name before of course :) ).

Interesting they would use the same actress. I wounder if the Doctor is going to go back and save her before all of that bad stuff happens to her :confused.

Of course he`s going to.

SPOILER AHEAD!!!!!!!

But it begs the question, if he saves her before she crashes on the planet....how does she wipe the Daleks memory of him?

It`ll have never happened!

I figured I would spoiler tag it since you did above, I am just speculating though LOL.

That could be why "Doctor Who?" is the question that can never be answered.

I reckon they used WAAAAY to many NSD Daleks in the episode, but on the BBC website, they posted a video that said they had to jump the number of Dalek operators for the episode...Pity I didn't know about that job opening.

I absolutely LOVE that no one knows what's going on with Coleman. It's a testament to Moffat and crew that none of us know the plan. In this internet spoilery age, I love it!

My wife and i were in love with her within 10min. They gotta go with that character. Someone who can actually talk with the doc on his level.

Apparently part of what got her cast was she could talk faster than Matt :)

I thought the episode was ok. I think all the publicity built the episode up too much, as I don't feel it lived up to the hype.

Way overhyped I agree. But I enjoyed it. :)

YES! I would love an episode where the Doctor is cornered in the TARDIS and he stumbles across the remains of Adric's star...

For the record My favourite Cybermen are pre-earmuff style. The Wheel in Space was the pinnacle of that design.

Don't know about my favourite Cyberman design, but I do know that, as a kid, they scared the **** out of me way more than the Daleks did. Something about the face, I think.
I remember peeking into the room from the doorway (so I could duck out if it got too scary) when I saw them marching out of a spaceship.

They certainly rival the Daleks in my books. Tomb of the Cybermen sealed the deal for me. Terrifying.

didnt we just have the discussion about monsters and their expiry dates?

well, daleks and cybermen are pretty old and still freakin scary!
