Garth Marenghi's Darkplace

Re Darkplace, the DVD is region 2-PAL only right? I know I could watch it on my comp, but would new DVD players be able to read it? Or am I out of luck on that?

Depends on your DVD player I think, as far as I know some DVD players can be bought with multi-region playback.

Or, buy the DVD, rip the ISO, and play it with full menus worry free on your WDTV Live. :)
 
Yeah, I was wondering about that, but I think what Orange_Blend suggested would make more sense for my situation.

I might need to use Roxio's Toast or something on my mac to rip an ISO.

I'm glad there's some Garth Marenghi appreciation somewhere.
I don't understand why it wasn't a massive thing here, there's almost no merch for it :(
It's one of the best TV series ever.

Same here. Orange_Blend hipped me to it. Grateful for that. Can't imagine ever not knowing about it.

I love the 'knuckle supper' line.
 
"It really hurts!"

I watched the first episode a few more times and showed it to a coworker, who really enjoyed it. It's nice to share. :)

I'm still working my way through Snuff Box and although I really like both Matt and Rich, it's just not grabbing me like Darkplace did.

On the sketch comedy front, I really like The Fast Show. "Monkfish!"
 
Darkplace is definitely a gem. Every episode has solid laughs. I have a Scottish friend who laughed his ass off at the episode 'Scotch Mist'. Especially the part at the end when they have the subtitles going 'You said some pretty nasty thungs'
 
Odd that this thread was bumped. Had myself a little Darkplace marathon last night. :)

This is one of those shows that goes totally unnoticed by most. Fell in love with it after who wants to be a super hero on scifi channel back in 06 or 7.
 
Thanks to this thread, I watched "Scotch Mist" before passing it along to a Scotsman friend. More laughs in 15 minutes than in many full-length movies, and absolutely pitch-perfect in every way.
