Garth Marenghi's Darkplace

This has to be my favourite comedy show of all time.

What's not to like? Only six episodes - a travesty - but sheer genius from beginning to end.

Any other fans on the board?

I caught episodes of it on Adult Swim and it was cheesy but entertaining.

"Author. Dreamweaver. Visionary. Plus actor."

I loved it from beginning to end.

Re: Garth Merenghi's Darkplace

Nice one Pete.

Greetings traveler. I'm Garth Marenghi, horror writer. Most of you will probably know me already from my extensive canon of chillers, including Afterbirth, in which a mutated placenta attacks Bristol. Back in the 1980s, I wrote, directed and starred in Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, a television program so radical, so risky, so dangerous, so ******* crazy, that the so-called powers that be became too scared to show it, and gypped me. Much in the same way women have done ever since they sniffed out my money.

"I'm in the fortunate position of having written more books than I've actually read"

If you like dark place I reckon you'd 'get' snuff box too

I keep meaning to watch that, I like Matt Berry!

Did you check out 'Toast of London' last week? Was pretty good.

It's like the best of the low budget BBC I grew up watching on PBS. Not even Doctor Who but Blake Seven and even some of the dramas.

Snuff box IMHO is waay better than dark place , wasnt too keen on toast.

You should check out 'look around you' also, second series is funnier

BETTER than Darkplace? I'll have to reserve judgement until I see it, but I find that somewhat difficult to believe. What can beat 'Skipper the Eyechild'? Maybe I should have an incontinence pad on standby in case I **** myself laughing?;)

Snuff Box is great! So is Mighty Boosh and The IT Crowd. Can you tell I'm a huge Matt Berry fan? :lol. I still need to see Darkplace though.

I love seeing all those guys in the different shows. I've watched all the Mighty Boosh I could get my hands on, several episodes of The IT Crowd, and the first episode of Snuff Box. And, of course, all of Red Dwarf. Nobody does shot-on-video sci-fi comedy like the Brits!

I love the hell out of this show. And IT Crowd. Checked out Mighty Boosh and Snuff Box, but neither hooked me. Might give them another shot.

Did anyone watch 'Toast of London' with Matt Berry? I've been watching for the second episode but just found out it was a one-off - nooo!

Hoping for a series next year, it was very funny.

Matt Berry really likes recycling his music! I'll have to try and find the whole episode of Toast. Thanks for the heads up!
