Game of Thrones

I have a strong feeling Tyrion is going to burn. Dany is probably going to find out about his doubts. It is going to be interesting to see how that plays out.

I also wonder if Dany has been added to Arya's list

It would have been nice to have gotten a little explanation as to how they knew Missandei would make such a great prisoner, but my expectations this season have fallen so low at this point I'll let that one slide.

I hope Tyrion didn't really try to reason with Cersei again. I can't believe he did it the first time and I couldn't believe he was doing it again - I'm hoping he only approached her so he could mention the baby in front of Euron. Euron's going to suspect it's not his now (that is if he's smart enough, which I'm not certain he is).

Euron met Missandei during the talks at the dragon pit. She spoke for Dany until Dany arrived so he would be able to recognize her as a valuable prisoner.

I think Tyrion really did try to appeal to Cersei's love for her children as a bargaining tactic. However, I don't his mention of her having a child went unnoticed by Euron. I thought he was going to say something them, but he didn't. I still think it will come back to haunt Cersei as Euron puts together the clues that it is not his child

Once again, the passage of time on this show is seriously wonky... Cersei's been pregnant, like KNOWING that she's pregnant, for at least a few months now. There are no pregnancy tests in Westeros, which means it would have been at least 4-6 weeks into the pregnancy before she missed her period/starting having any sort of morning sickness to know she was pregnant.

The procession to and from KL for the parley and ask for Cersei's help against the dead, the preparations leading up to the Knight King's attack and the aftermath of the battle, which would have been at least a couple of months... now we have Euron sailing to set up his ambush at Dragonstone and however long he sat there waiting (I know Dragonstone isn't THAT far from KL, but it would be at least a week or two to sail there, especially now that winter is setting in and the weather is supposed to be getting rougher)... How is she not showing?!

I hated the second dragon getting killed- of course by now I should be used to having anything or anybody I like in that show being killed. I do agree they should have spotted the ships long before firing range (I wonder how far they can fire accurately?)
I assume those dragons were aloft as recon for the fleet, if they were just a fancy taxi service for her highness then somebody should rethink tactics.

The confrontation at the wall gives me an idea how many unsullied costumes were worn and how many of that army was CGI- just an assumption but the number looks about right for close up shots of them in formation or battle.

The Hound and Arya have one of the most interesting relationships- pragmatic and based on mutual respect. I feel those two are going to accomplish what the combined armies cannot.

I do not think Jon would make a good leader because he simple cannot shut up. A leader needs to know what must be shared and what must be held back for the common good, He is not thinking strategically

I think Varys will betray them to Cersei due to his obligation to his perception of the 'greatest good for the people' and Tyrion will kill him.

Private wish- I would love to see a badly wounded yet still alive Rheagal pop up out of the sea and consume Euron right off the deck of his ship. Rhaegal did not flame up as Viserion did and they are supposedly magical creatures so who knows.
A more practical and still satisfying end to Euron would be for Yara to show up during a critical battle behind him with a rebuilt Iron Island fleet and settle the score- she is too good a character to be sidelined at this stage of the game. Ruron built his fleet way too fast to be practical and those same shipyards are still there.

Another weak episode. And as ruthless as the RW was I don’t see why Cersei wouldn’t just slaughter the small contingent outside the walls. Drogon was had dead to rights I’m sure. Would’ve been the most pragmatic thing she’s ever done. And if she was willing to kill hundreds by blowing up the Sept of Baelor, than I am very disappointed...and I’m not a Lannister fan. I just hate stupid more.

I like Jamie going to his sister .
If Arya kills him and takes his face it will make getting close to Cersei very easy !

Even though it ruins his character arch , unless he plans on killing her ?

Stupid, stupid, stupid episode.
Cersei could have/would have/should have destroyed Dani and Drogon right then and there.
Euron can see Dani's dragons, but they can't see his ships?
3 for 3 on Rhaegal, but a whole volley on Drogon and not a single hit?
Cersei sends Bronn to kill Tyrion, but when Tyrion's right in front of her she won't kill him?
WHY DIDN'T CERSEI DESTROY DANI RIGHT THEN AND THERE????
This show has gone full-retard.

2 things I liked:
1 - Jon gives the Nights Watch eulogy for everyone who died defending Winterfell.
2 - Missandei's last words. "Dracarys".

The rest of this episode can go suck an egg.
Suddenly much less hopeful for a D&D Star Wars saga.
THEY RIAN JOHNSONED GAME OF THRONES!!!

This show started with the intelligence turned up to ELEVEN, and is ending with the intelligence turned down to ONE.

Just watching to see the ending at this point. Hopefully the books wont be as stupid. Such a shame to see this show get ruined like this. Ive been trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but not anymore. Instead of full on jumping the shark, they're just slowly creeping up to the edge of the ramp, inch by inch. RIP Game of Thrones

Shhhh. Shhhhh. Sshhshhshhhhh.

As soon as they ran out of source material we all put away our smoking pipes and brandy and got out the popcorn and bud light , welcome my friend , welcome.

grab a beanbag and a bong and watch the flashy lights .

Also, Jon and Dany are the worst pet-parents EVER!

Ghost lost an ear fighting in your ****** battle, Jon, and you can't even be bothered to give him a pat on the head and a "good boy" before abandoning him?! **** YOU!

Also for Dany, let me put this out there: when the Targaryens were flying dragons in combat on the regular, they had a lot of differences in how they handled their dragons compared to Dany’s mismanagement of them.

1. Ancient dragon riders used saddles that provided additional armor/protection to the dragon and also ensured they wouldn't go flying off or have to have herculean strength to stay aboard during combat maneuvers.

2. Ancient dragon riders were themselves armored and used weapons (Which they could do because SEE POINT 1).

3. All of this would have been documented in Westeros, (as proud as she and Viscerys were of their heritage, they certainly grew up on stories of the ancient dragon warriors) and probably in those books Jorah gave Dany on her wedding day.

The fact that immediately after her return from her first flight with Drogon she was not insisting that the dragons have armor/saddles made (again the concept, and possibly even schematics of which were probably in her posession with those books) and that she, herself be taught how to wear armor and use at least a bow is a HUGE fail on her part and speaks volumes of her rampant arrogance.

So **** YOU to Dany too. The deaths of Rheagal and Visceron were her fault and I will fight anyone who says otherwise!

I would fly her dragon doing Mach 10 and blasting the whole castle walls. The ice dragon did it on the wall. No way they Can see it coming in so hot to even think of getting a scorpion shot off or even reload.

There are soooooo many issues with this season it’s not even funny. It very sad that they are phoning this in. Crap, why not just have the dragon drop barrels and barrels from way above the city. Then just spark it up and watch from a far. F all the people in KL anyway. Population control 2nd wave.

The scorpions are front mounted weapons, they can turn a bit from side to side but cannot spin 180- attack from the rear!

Missandei should have just grabbed Cersei and jumped. THAT would have been a magnificent Game of Thrones moment in keeping with the best of them. Missandei knew she was dead already, Cersei is withing an inch of you, even with manacles it could have been done.
Everyone is wondering how the final battle would take place and this could have thrown the entire viewing audience for a loop.

How I would have outlined season 8:

First episode - Winterfell prepares for battle.
Next 5 episodes - running battle with white walkers all the way to King's Landing. Lots of our heroes joining WW ranks along the way.
Episode 6 - Cersei refuses to join the fight, Dani and Drogon light up the Red Keep, inadvertently alighting the wildfire under the city and all of King's Landing goes up in a giant green mushroom cloud.
Episode 7 - whoever's left picks up the pieces.

Damn, that would have been fun. I had a very similar hope for S8, although with some minor changes:

The survivors of the Battle of Winterfell run to King's Landing in hopes Cersei will open the gates for a final stand against the NK...she (obviously) declines and they all perish outside the walls. Then the NK takes KL and everyone dies. The end.

Personally, I think the inability of Dany to spot the fleet, and her subsequent flying straight towards the attackers in their main firing arc was purposefully bad. i.e. they are making her look bad by being too aloof and confident in her abilities as well as showing her throwing caution to the wind to "burn them all".

Reading these comments makes me happy, I thought something was wrong with me for getting highly irritated at what is going on with characters I have loved since the 90s.

I try to rationalize stuff like that but I just can't. Confidence aside, they're going into enemy territory to get to Dragonstone so they should've been wary, if not ready. Then it also showed the Ironborn ships having NO sails as if they were all at complete anchor to take small boats to the shore so they couldn't even turn and run. I had a feeling when it was mentioned they were going to Dragonstone, that was a bad idea.

I don't even mind Rhaegal being killed so outright(even though I did think, maybe hope, he'd stay with Jon), very GOTish. It's just everything leading to it and surrounding it. But yea, armor and saddles make more sense to me too.

Missandei should've held onto Cersei when she touched her by the arm and told her to say her last words. Missandei says, "Valar Morghulus" and they dive off the side.

Forgot to add how badly Ghost was just thrown away by Jon....got rid of a dragon and a direwolf in the same episode way to save on that budget over good storytelling.

Just watching the scene again, and all that can be concluded was that Euron's ships have a cloaking device and that they can fire while cloaked!

Since Dany is looking left towards Rhaegal, which is the direction the scorpion bolt comes from, she must be able to see him! Then the other two bolts come flying in from the same direction and the camera pans round as Rhaegal falls and.... there's nothing there!

Then when the fleet is 'revealed' between the islands they're in plain sight of all the allied ships who also seem surprised to see them. I would also be interested in the physics of how far those bolts can fly when on a flat trajectory without falling into the sea...

So, QED, Euron has a cloaking device (and teleportation from the last season). I expect his ship to take the next technological leap next episode and start flying like Vingilot.
