Game of Thrones

the Game of thrones name is fine. Everyone is trying to win the throne to rule them all. The name of song of fire & ice can have a few different meanings. 1. Being the fight between the white walkers and everyone else (+dragons?). 2. It can be refer to Fire being passion and vicious / anger / hate. While ice mean being calm or cold to actions. So you got the crazy out of hand killers and psychos being cold to emotions while they kill and rule everyone. Those being lannisters, stannis. Then there is the more calm, talkers pushing the pycho buttons while they gain ground to the throne. These group belong to the martell and tryell, mother of dragons, Jon snow, a few others. Idk, just my thoughts
 
I'm just wondering who this Mossador character is. In the books there is a character with that name, but this doesn't seem to be the same person. I'm assuming they wouldn't just throw a new character into the mix for no reason. Especially one that seems to be counsellor to Daenerys.
 
He was the slave trying to convince the others to join Daenerys and fight against the slave masters, when Grey Worm snuck into to city.

In the book he was Missandei's brother.
 
I expect they'll probably kill him off this season to force Grey Worm or Dany's hand in some rash move that goes horribly, horribly wrong because Dany is a crappy ruler. At least at the present.

I really hope that they don't drag out her Book 5 stuff too long this season, and move PAST it.
 
Based on what the writer's have said it appears this will be the last season before overtaking the books timeline. I'm expecting this season to end with the "cliffhangers" from A Dance With Dragons.

As it is, they have already told us we won't be seeing any of Bran's story line this season, most likely since they have run out of "printed" material for his story and are waiting to wrap up the current material this season in preparation for leaving behind the printed material next season and starting the new season in mostly uncharted waters
 
I could see them progressing past it this season, but I could also see them stretching enough stuff out over ten episodes to just wrap up the remainder of books 4 and 5. They might even shift some stuff or drop it entirely, like the Iron Islands stuff.
 
They really don't seem to be following any book story line to the letter like they did before. The books now are more of a rough guide. Which is fine. I like what the show is doing. It makes it even more exciting to not really know whats coming next. Not that that ever took away from my enjoyment of the show, but it does add a whole new level of enjoyment for me.

Poor Brienne. She found both Stark girls and neither wants anything to do with her

Looking forward to the house of black and white stuff. Kind of cool they went with the Jaqen H'Gar character, although it's not clear yet if that is the same character she met in Westeros, or if the if it is the kindly old man just taking on a familiar face for her

They did a good job of showing Danny's bad decision making and the internal strife in Meereen.

I also wonder if Varys will be traveling the whole way with Tyrion or will be heading back to Westeros

I agree, it's kind of nice to not know necessarily know what's going to happen.
 
Though on the other hand, the changes do kind of spoil things for the book readers, assuming that certain things happen in certain locations to certain characters that weren't there in the books.
 
Agreed. This last episode went pretty off the rails with Sansa and Brienne. I like that I don't know exactly what's going to happen there.
 
I have a feeling about what Littlefinger may be planning just based off the preview for next week

I think he may be planning to marry her to Ramsay Snow in an effort to secure the North for himself

And if thats the case I don't think the books are headed in that direction at all. So, even though they both may be headed to the same ending, I think the show is taking a much different path to get there.

This is gonna be awesome.

Good points. I wonder if it will take over this story arc from the books...

In the books Jeyne Poole was turned into a fake Arya Stark and married off to Ramsay Snow. Maybe Sansa will be married to Ramsay instead? Which leaves open a chance for Theon to rescue her later, as in the book.

What I mean is
With Jaime going to Dorne I find myself assuming he's filling Arys Oakheart's role in Dorne to some degree, which doesn't bode well for when Brienne takes him to Lady Stoneheart in the next book.

I think at this point, it's pretty safe to assume...

We won't see Lady Stoneheart at all in the show. I don't know that Jaime will die like Arys does, but I think Brienne's story is going to go completely off from where the books go. Which is good, I think, because her book journey is not something that would translate well at all to the screen. Plus it's kind of boring and I question the purpose of it.

I think Martin's two biggest missteps have been Brienne's journey in Book 4 and the whole Dany in Iraq thing in Book 5. Both storylines seem pointless in the end, and don't seem to be, for example, changing the characters or giving them reasons to do something different in the future. Maybe Martin needs to tie it all together, but within each book, the storylines just kind of wander aimlessly and feel a lot like filler. Dany's seems less like that, and may teach her things about how to rule, but so far she hasn't seemed to learn a ******* thing from her time in Iraq, and basically just pisses off everyone and looks like a crappy ruler. Maybe this is to set up her meeting Tyrion who teaches her more about how to rule, but it's been handled poorly thus far.

Bron is going with Jamie to Dorne. It is possible that he will meet Ser Arys fate instead of Jamie, but then again if Jamies winds up like Arys, it could mean that in the books he will die at the hands of Lady Stoneheart. So in the end the same result, just a different way to get there. I think the Lady Stoneheart stuff from the books is really just a side story which in the end will have no real bearing on the grand story's ending so leaving it out is no big deal. Same with most of the Iron Island stuff. Although there is the horn that Victarion has, but they could easily introduce that late if it is a big plot point

I think Little Finger's plan is to marry her to Harry the Heir and then get rid of Robert. although...
If he does marry her off to Ramsey, Brienne could take over the role Mance Rayder would have had in trying to rescue the fake Sansa from Winterfell. Still I don;t think little finger would have as much to gain from marrying her to Ramsey. She is the legitimate heir to Winterfell as far as he knows and if she is married to Harry the Heir and Robert is bumped off he gets a foothold on both the Vale and Winterfell after revealing who she really is
 
Blakeh has a point,

If Sansa is the legit heir to Winterfell then what does she gain by marrying a pretender to Winterfell. Though I guess Littlefinger could see some other political advantage to attaching her to a Bolton

I think we can all agree that Brienne is not having a great week, and really neither is Pod. That long shot where he is scoping out the waitress and happens to see Sansa was pretty well done though.

I have been wondering why Brienne didn't mention to Sansa that she had recently seen/been with Arya? Perhaps there would have been more trust between them. Does Sansa even know if Arya is alive?
