Game of Thrones

I wonder if we will be seeing "cold hands" in the next episode. I thought we might have seen him when all the crows showed as Sam and Gilly were wandering around since that matches his appearance in the book, but they went with Sam killing the other.

It doesnt look like there are any Sam/Gilly scenes in Ep9, so I'm hoping Coldhands shows up in 10. I think it'd be a great cliffhanger to Sam's story like last year's.

In the book, at that particular point, his obsidian dagger shattered on the mail that Paul (his re-animated brother of the Nightswatch) was wearing.

It's worth noting that it probably wouldn't have done anything to Paul anyway.

Obsidian only affects the Others, not the Wights if I recall. For the Wights, fire is the preferred method. Whether they stick to this in the show, I dunno.

They've stayed true to that in the show. The first season had a wight being burned in the Old Bear's quarters, so I expect they'd stick with that.

It's really strange to realise that James Cosmo (Jeor Mormont) played Duncan McLeod's cousin Angus in the original Highlander. He also played Hamish's dad, Campbell in Braveheart.

Yep! He was also in an episode of Midsomer Murders which was pretty cool.

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest.

Just read an interview with the actress who plays Meera Reed. Not so sure we'll see Coldhands now, but I'm still hoping for it.

Wait, what?!? No new episode? Why the hell not? I NEED MY FIX.

He's also the only person on the show who has ever killed a White Walker! Sam the Slayer!
On the show? He's the only person in a thousand years to have killed one! Sam the Slayer indeed.

Oh, that's cruel... Was very confused checking the TV menu and seeing it not on. I thought it was Saturday or something. Just looked it up, and saw something about it possibly being due to low ratings on Memorial Day weekend last year...... Blah.

That was pretty interesting. I would never have thought the woman who plays Brienne would look that good with some hair and makeup!

I believe that she started as a model or something, no matter, there was definitely a lot of criticism from book fans that she was too hot to play Brienne.

To be fair, though, that's damning with faint praise, really. Which is not to say she isn't gorgeous when she's done up.

The "book purists" are just nuts. They complain that Peter Dinklage is too handsome compared to how Tyrion is described in the books. Its still a "hollywood" production. Youre just not going to find many unattractive actors in lead roles.

Notice how that article listed a co-author? That's one of the people who run westeros.org. So, I don't think this book is taking up all of GRRM's time. He has help.
