This site is such a great site for keeping all the minor characters and detail straight, or just for checking out chapter summaries etc...

Tower of the Hand ~ An Encyclopedia of Ice and Fire

You can set the scope of what books you've read and what seasons you've watched so when you got to info about characters it doesn't show spoilers or detail about things you haven't read/watched yet. Just note the chapter summaries are not subject to scope, but the character info is

When Missandei says Valar Morghulis and Dany responds with something like "we are not men" and Missandei smiles, I originally just thought the smile was just because of the humor of the response, but now I think it was more because Missandei was tipped off that Dany is fluent in Valyrian despite acting like she needs a translator and likewise, she knows that she has a plan...

I watched that scene again, and you're right. I originally thought Missandei had given the translation herself, but it was indeed Daenerys. That'll make for an awkward scene with the slavemaster later on...;)

Hit the nail right on the head! Tonight's episode was awesome. I kind of figured she would be up to something once she was give command of the Unsullied and I wasn't disappointed.

If the series ended with this episode, it would be a great ending. I think this season just went from full speed ahead to warp factor 10! If the rest of the season is even half as good as this episode, we're in great shape. Sorry for all the hyperbole, but I'm just so overwhelmed with how incredible this show is.

I'm so thrilled with how this season is shaping up. Danaerys is really coming into her own as a true queen and I adore her.

I don't think the translator smiled because she thought Khaleesi spoke the language but rather smiling at the comment. In tonight's episode when Khaleesi speaks valyrian, the girl has a look of surprise on her face. Either way when that happened (I'm glad my hunch was right), I literally shouted out Daenerys Stormborne Targaryen Mother ****er!!!

I know he means well but I'm really wanting Sam to die. He's utterly useless.

yeah i think it was sad they skipped sam the slayer, the character development for sam became dull and he became less likable than from the book.

Yeah, she was pretty surprised, so I apparently misread that scene. Having read the books I knew what was going to happen, I thought they might have slipped a little foreshadowing in there

Love how they did that whole unsullied takeover.

I think "Sam the Slayer" was a pretty significant plot point in the book

considering it shows how the otherwise unkillable "others" can be so easily killed by dragon glass, which they did make a point of finding in the show. I'm thinking maybe next week we'll see Sam the Slayer as he is protecting Gilly during the escape

I have to wonder if we will see a significant mystery figure during Sam and Gilly's escape. It'll be interesting to see how they do it and if the casting will eliminate some of the questions around him from the books.

After looking at the opening credits more closely, I'm left wondering why Winterfell is still depicted as being built even though it's been sacked and burned. I'm glad that it acknowledges it's destruction to a degree, but the smoke effects look like they were just thrown into the CGI model at the very last minute. I think it should have been depicted the same way as Harrenhal was. No building animation, just destroyed buildings and rubble.

If they do show a certain cast member we've seen before it sure would answer up a lingering question that the books have not even answered yet about the identity. I'm guessing if they include that part, the person will have a cloak covered face or something

Dumb question, but who were the Nightwatch guys fighting? Were they split and fighting among themselves? It was a little unclear what was going on.

Basically, yeah, it was a mutiny of sorts. They turned on Craster because he wasnt feeding them, then they turned on Lord Commander Mormont because, well, thats what you do in a mutiny.

I haven't read the books. Are we still in the first book? Or have we entered another?

We didn't get to see the revolt thanks to HBO HD taking a dump during the last quarter of the show...

So it wasn't just my DVR? I thought my machine had gone on the blink. I watched the rest with HBO on Demand this morning.
