Game of Thrones

Wow what an episode! The scene between Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie was quite touching. Loved the humorous stuff (Small Council musical chairs, Pod/Tyrion/Bronn scene), but the stuff at Riverrun and Jamie/Brienne was even better. They're really building up the tension with Theon's story and Dany's as well. I think this season is off to a much better start compared to last season.

For the other book readers here, it seemed like there were a lot of little "easter eggs" thrown in. The mentioning of the Meereenese knot, Arya's call back to her friend Micah, and the awesome, awesome scene with Dany, Barristan, and Jorah. Seriously, just so much good stuff. Gotta watch it again!

I'm almost reeling from the awesome that was this episode. I can't WAIT to see what else they've got going on for the rest of the season.

I'm now wondering if they're going to go a different direction with Theon's storyline than the books, unless that's Ramsay and he's just stringing Theon along.

That was a great episode. By the end I was like "HOLY ****"

I loved how Bronn and Tyrion sat down to get pointers from Pod.

As for Khaleesi

I can't see her letting one of her dragons go like that. I almost get the feeling that once she's taken the entire army from el *********, she's gonna turn them around on him and take her dragon back

Loved hearing another song (The Bear and the Maiden Fair) from the books last night. First as the Brotherhood was riding along and the Irish Moutarde version at the end.

I'm pretty sure that person saying he's Yara's man is really Ramsay. He's a fairly well known actor in the UK and I doubt they'd waste him on a trivial role. Plus, except for the hair length, he just looks so much like how Ramsay is described in the books. As much as I can't stand Theon, Alfie Allen does such a great job as him, which is going to make watching his storyline this season even better.

He's not Ramsay. He's listed as "Locke" on IMDB. He's a stand-in for Vargo because, I guess, the Bloody Mummers are a bit too outlandish for the show. Everything he's doing, though, is straight from Vargo's playbook.

Anyway, great episode, but I swear, I always find myself saying "Wait...that's IT?!" at the end of each episode. I guess that's a sign that the show has my attention. Although, it feels like this season is moving slowly in some respects and WAY fast in others.

Like, what's going on with the pacing of the Wildlings storyline? Are we going to see the...ahem...conclusion of that storyline from the end of Book 3 at the end of this season? That'd seem...odd. Particularly if...ahem...other events like Joffrey's wedding are pushed off...

The series already established that Lord Bolton sent his bast*** son to retake Winterfell, so Ramsey is already established as being in the series. And what does that Bolton soldier say to Theon's savior?

"You little bast***."

This series isn't really known for it's characters to call non-bast*** characters that word unless it was actually true. Plus, IMDB is not always right.

You're confusing 2 different characters. Locke is the replacement for Vargo Hoat from the books. The character thats with Theon is listed as "Boy" in the credits, but I'm fairly certain we'll see that he's actually Ramsay Snow/Bolton, Roose Bolton's ******* son from the Dreadfort. What we're seeing now is just part of his mental torture and manipulation of Theon that wasn't really touched on until book 5.

Episode 9 this season

There are 2 weddings this season, but neither are Joff's to Margaery.

Ah, see, I haven't read books 4 or 5 so I don't know about that. I thought Ramsay Snow/Bolton was at the Dreadfort right now.

My husband and I were HOWLING over the scene with Bronn/Tyrion/Pod.

Yeah, you know she's not going to give up one of her babies. She's bluffing and has a plan. I'm SERIOUSLY looking forward to next episode!

Yeah, I made a mistake. The other wedding is Episode 9, Joff's wedding will most likely be early next season

There's a difference in Acquiring a Dragon, and actually KEEPING said Dragon. Take the Jerry Reed Song "The Bird" And Substitute Dragon for Bird.

It's just the fact that she said she wants to buy every single one of those soldiers. Even the ones in training. As soon as she said that, I got the feeling she has a plan. If there are no soldiers to protect the city, then she can walk right up, take her dragon back and kill baldy. I mean there's absolutely no way she would give up one of her dragons for an army. I get the feeling she didn't tell the other 2 because she needed their reactions to be real and convincing.

As I have not read the books, maybe some who has can tell me

what if any meaning was there with the horse head type crop circle in the north, I am assuming it has something to do with the whitewalkers(I know they are called wraiths in the book). Did that part have to do anything with the importance of them(the whitewalkers/wraiths) or am I crazy?

I'm up through Book 3. Based on that
No, it's not explained or described in detail. They use the same kind of thing in the first episode, but it's not explained there either.
