Game of Thrones

Y'know, despite Jon Snow's battle prowess and Valyrian Steel sword, the real MVP of the Battle of Hardhome was Stompey the Giant. He had ALL KINDS of fornications to not give about the Wights swarming on him.

I'm gonna have to disagree with your MVP choice. Big man didn't give 2 F's about anyone but himself really. He walked away from hut, I'll give credit for stomping the one guy. Then he just swung this stick like a triple A guy that called up for a day. Hits only 2 guys on the 1st swing, maybe a handful on the last one. Then breaks his bat by smashing in the ground on maybe 1/2 guys. Walks off into the water like he has been bossing the midfield. Could have gave the boat a push or a pull.

my vote is for the bald guy with the axe. Calls the door to be shut to buy time for the others. Then he guards the door and drops a few guys. Next he goes to the hut to aid Jon. Tells Jon to grab those shards while he tries to buy him time. Buys a few seconds and dies for the cause.

big man was cool, but I hope he grabbed his water rings. Man isn't gonna fit on a boat.

such a amazing episode, the ending was a surprise and was very pleasing.

But I loved the conversion between Tyrion and Daenerys. It was damn entertaining and I could have watched a whole episode of just them two talking to each other. between them two. And I could see them being a great couple

I don't think it'll be exactly the same point.

For example, the stuff with Sansa is totally different, so anything that touches that will probably be different. The only similarities I could see happening are the sort of emotional decisions, like, Sansa being more resilient/ruthless/cunning/whatever.

But the stuff with Tyrion and Dany? Gold. Pure freakin' gold. That NEEDS to happen in the book (and if it has been done in one of the released chapters DO NOT TELL ME).

One of my biggest complaints with Book 5 was how Tyrion's journey just drags on and on and on without resolution, but with a ton of teases that they're gonna met up. and the show just said "Yeah, screw that. They meet. Let's move on from there down to what happens AFTER they meet." I get that part of the point was to introduce other characters, and that part was obvious, but there's a lot of other stuff that still remains...murky to me.

I'd say that the one critical failing that Martin has shown thus far is that both books 4 and 5 ended without a ton of "This is why we've been talking about all of this stuff." I get soem of it thematically, but there's also a lot that leaves me saying "But did it need to take THIS long? Did you have to go through all of that stuff?"

I'm really hoping that large portions of both books don't become the "Leaving the Shire/Tom Bombadil" portion of A Song of Ice and Fire.

Tom Bombadil would kick the white walkers arses.

No he wouldn't. He'd say "Hey-Hillo Bombadillo Rum-Tum-Tillo-Hey!" And then his whole world would turn to snow and ice and he'd have no more babbling brooks or honeybees to get royal jelly for his homemade bread or whatever. Which is pretty much what would've happened if the Ring had ended up with Sauron. He might be incorruptible by the Ring, but the world around him can just as easily turn to ash. Or in this case, ice.

Looks like we might see Euron next season as well as Randall Tarly. No names, but some of the descriptions of the characters give a good idea of who they are casting for. The theater lady seems like it may be one of the characters from the sample "Mercy" chapter

I saw this earlier. One thing I think is interesting is that not only are they casting Randall, but they are casting the whole family. I wonder if that means clan Tarly will play a big role in the future or if we'll just see Lady Tarly and the siblings wandering around in background shots.

I'm hoping we'll see Gilly and Little Sam sent off to Horn Hill, so that the Tarly family take care of them and then maybe Sam goes to the Citadel to become the new maester for the Night's Watch.
