Galaxys Edge

yeah looks like it's going to be mostly action figures.

As first reported, this is what we know so far...

I am so ready for the Captain Cardinal helmet. And hopefully generic FO stormtrooper helmet.

I just wish we knew if all Targets are going to be getting these items or just the ones with the Disney Store addition. I don't think any Target stores in Oregon have the Disney Store section so I'd have to order it online...

When they announce the Disney Store product coming to Target, they made point to mention it was limited. When they announced the GE line coming to Target, they made no such statement. So the lack of that info makes me believe this will be not be limited to select stores. After all, so far this product seems to be Hasbro related product and not Disney Store product so it would appear to be unrelated.

Also, Yakface is reporting that some of the product is starting to ship from overseas...

Not really into any of the modern toys. I'm a vintage collector.

I am interested in some of the goodies they carry like Yoda cane and lamp. Little odds and ends.

I did have a hotel booked and 3 days reserved from August 3rd to 9th. I canceled the hotel and my son and I are going on the 3rd for one day. It's about a 3 hour drive for me. I will hold the other 2 days till this blows over.

We have a 5 day trip planned in October. Currently we only have the room at Shades of Green (the military resort on WDW property) reserved. We still need tickets and park reservations.

We are 2.5 hours away. I first booked the room at the end of lock down but since then, Florida has just gone into the crapper with the virus. I have a hard time pushing forward under the circumstances. Have a reminder in my calendar when I can cancel the room without losing money.

Target has the preorder up for some of the GE product. Here is the main page...

Here is the Falcon. It is what I thought, a repacked BMF from a few years back with a few different pack ins to fit with the GE theme (not saying it’s a bad thing). I bought mine back then for $99 when Walmart had them on a price cut.

Still no word on the Black Series helmet. Weird. I wonder if it simply hasn't been announced yet or if there was no Black Series helmet after all and it was actually just the Black Series figure? That could have been easily mixed up... Hmm...

There are other figures, the plush from the list are not posted. Also the talk is that there will be clothing items as well. I would say this is just the first wave of items.

The page on Target's website does say "Full Collection Coming August 30th."

I assumed they put these select items up for pre-order to generate interest and buzz, and on "launch day" all the other rumored items (Cardinal's Helmet, the single pack Hondo Black Series, and the plushies) as well as other items we don't know yet, will go up for sale on Target's website and in store.

Ah, right, I forgot about the plushes. Good point.

Ah, I didn't catch the August 30th thing. Nevermind. :p

$400.00 for a toy Falcon? Is there something I’m missing?

What I can tell you is that the original release of this product was 2008 and had a MRP of $159.99.

I got mine as Wal-Mart for a price cut around $99.

He is the thing. For some people, the $400 might be a good deal. If you check out recent completed sales on eBay, some people have paid around $400 for a used, no box 2008 model and $500-$900 for NIB box. So for people who really want a big Hasbro MF in their collection, then they are pretty happy about it.

Then there is the other side to this. Does Hasbro/Target have to charge $240 more for this version.
  • A few new pieces produced.
  • Resetting the manufacturing line for already previously made product.
  • Costs difference across the supply chain from 2008 to 2020
  • Standard profit margin mark up.
  • etc..
I honestly don't know. Just something to think about.
