There was a thread here a while back where someone refurbed a vintage casting. Perhaps that's what we see in the video?

Yeah, the "other" Rising Star showed up in some of the behind-the-scenes pix GKvfx dug up a while back.

As Gene says, I've always assumed one of the models seen in the aforementioned images was the master pattern from which the casting for the filming miniature was subsequently pulled.

This stuff is great to see, I really like that scene of the shuttle crash in the snow. I could watch that kind of stuff all day, "real" special effects...it's fascinateing.
