That is amazing! Great work! Soundwave is my favorite character. I was just mulling around the idea of building a Soundwave costume! If I do, I hope it turns out half as good as this one.

It is hard to move around in, however, when i wore it, i got mobbed and it literally took 2 steps, got stopped by a dozen people, take another 2 steps, stopped again... its fun!

with wearing stormtrooper helmets and other helmets, the optimus prime helmet is the most comfortable since its super roomy and i have sunglasses as my lens so there is no fogging

its been awhile since I updated this thread but I did finish Soundwave in time for Alamo City Comic Con 2013 in San Antonio, TX. We took Grand Master Overall 1st place in the Costume Contest as well (Optimus took 1st place overall at Texas Comic Con 2013 as well in San Antonio, TX)! My wife (Soundwave) and Me (Optimus) had a blast and look forward to many more Comic Cons!
these pics were pre-con test fit (hence no blacksuit under)
This is backstage before Costume Contest, we are still looking for pics from the contest on state with our helmets, so if you have any, please share!

That's where I got my templates from was instructables. I used it as a guide line.

Its been awhile since I posted an update, I upgraded Optimus Prime to make him 7 Feet tall (Peter Cullen is 5'9") and got to meet him back in June which was a dream come true! He admired my work and I teared up as I told him I have loved Optimus Prime since 1984!!! I even told him I cried when he died in the movie when I was 8 years old! I plan on improving Optimus Prime with sounds, lights, and better paint job.
