Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!
Just went to my displayed stuff cabinet, and made some quick measurements with my digital calipers (it shows hundreds of mm, with the calipers tolerance of 0,03, but for us thats ridicuolous, so i will go for one digit, that´s tenth of a mm, 0,004 inch).......
Atm i have 3 converted real Graflexes in it, and the 2 replicas still unaltered.
Body diameters (at the high of the beertab rivet) spread from 38,0mm to 38,1mm - randomly, real and replicas. all 5 have a material thickness from 1,14 to 1,16mm.
Bunny ears thickness is more or less 1,0mm on all (between 0,97 and 1,03, so inside the a.m. tolerance), the width is 15,9mm.
The thin strip between side holes and front edge is 4,1mm and 4,2mm on the real, 4,5mm on the unknown replica. Romans has only 3,2mm - so these holes seem slighly to high. I also can see the upper edge of the black plastic and the brass part.
Sidehole dia Romans and 2 real are 14,2mm, 1 real is 14,3mm, and the other replica is 14,4mm
The square holes are more or less the same, the amount of black plastic showing in the holes varies from edge to egde, on the real ones as much as on the replicas.
Other than those things like the bolts vs rivets and such stuff, the placement of the sideholes seems the only real difference i can find. This thing is made close enough for governmental work, so i call it more than well made for a replica.
