The drilled option didn't happen. The shop didn't want to drill only a few... they wanted an entirely separate run. Was not viable.

Roman addressed that a few pages back. Here was his reply. It was only a possibility, not a guarantee that pre drillled holes would be available.

Unfortunately, I will not be drilling the 3-cell bottoms.

The vendors would not drill just a few, or even half, of the battery holders. They wanted to treat them as an entirely separate part / project, and required an order of at least 1000 pieces. :unsure

The pre-drilled bottoms we're only a possibility, but unfortunately we're not doable. Here's a small copy paste of the original messages sent out October 2015:

"... ..... .. ORDER!!
MAY BE ADDED LATER:
- I will be speaking with several people about grips, circuit boards, bubbles, etc. (additional cost)
- I will likely pre-drill 3-cell battery holders for ESB & TFA at no extra charge. Just place your order and add a NOTE W/PAYMENT if you’d like battery holders pre-drilled.
FINALLY :
- PLEASE ... ... ....."

Is it much better to drill the holes? Some cut off the screws so they stop in the grips.

This is also a consideration if you want to put in a custom or pre-designed/made chassis like Darth Ryo's.

Actually I have taken into account to fact that some hilts will have screws sticking inside (the chassis length is planned accordingly).
I was also going to cut the screws, so that I have less drilling to do to the bottom part.

And next, I'll design two 3D printed templates:
- One to drill the holes for those who want to go that route.
- One to properly place the grips if no holes are drilled (can also serve with holes anyway to help keep the grips straight
I'll add them to my shop soon!

Was thinking of drilling holes anyway just to act as another speaker vent, besides the bottom of the hilt.
