Only people who have owned a real Graflex understand about the bakelite parts. Especially if you were crazy like me and took one apart :lol

Same thing with with vintage 50's guitars. Humbuckers from the 50's through the 70's had Bakelite bobbins and when it comes to accuracy it's a very important factor. Only purists and perfectionists know the struggle.

I had an eye that was corroded in so I had to spray some wd40 on it. It got all through the bakelite so I had no choice but to disassemble and clean. Not too hard but its nerve racking wondering if the bakelite is going to shatter while pulling out.

Thankfully no one will have to worry about that with Romans Graflex, well at least until the year 2040 or so.

I can't say enough good things about this offering and as usual Roman has been nothing but gracious and accommodating!

quick question, been away from the thread for a bit. I know I need the conversion kit to build an accurate anh, but do you need to purchase the seperate red button and clamp or is that part of the flashgun?

Red button, eye and clamp is part of the flashgun. You just need the kit.

If you decide to make an ESB you would purchase an extra button sperately. Hope this helps.

It is fun!! My very first Graflex I bought back in 1999 cost me $335.00 on ebay. Came with a Graflite flash as well. First thing I did was tear it apart :lol
