Limited Run === G R A F L E X === Flashgun Gen.2 ... now taking PRE-ORDERS!!! New Pics Oct. 5

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

A warning to anyone who plans to do an ammonia fumes treatment to darken your brass pins. I let mine sit in a Tupperware tub above the liquid overnight and yes, it darkened the pins. But it also ate away at the THIN brass contact piece that the pins are connected to., so much so that one contact crumbed and broke off in one side, and the layer underneath the lip in the center actually broke apart into several pieces. Anyone got an extra of that part?:wacko

brass ager on amazon works great, and you dont have to worry about it turning green or damaging the pieces. it seems kinda expensive but well worth it and easy to use

And now Ive stripped the slotted screw in the front trying to get the emitter out to fix the brass contacts. What else could go wrong?

I'm a bit of a noob on the subject, but I believe that there are little extractor bits that can get out stripped screws. Anyone have experience with these?

Crisis averted. I managed to CAREFULLY use my dremel cutting wheel to cut a new slot perpendicular to the stripped slot and unscrew it. I also rebrowned the pins and new replacement brass contacts.

So I managed to lose one of the screws in my ESB kit to attach the grips to the handle... Where can I find a replacement?

Bit late on the ball with this but I do! Picked up a set of four bits at the hardware store to fix my grub screw mishap on my V2. Amazingly simple stuff.

The best part is when Scott shows how the bulb sockets on the vintage ones don't always line up perfectly. I think Roman is owed quite a few apologies.

Imagine?!? :lol

But... I don't see that happening.Only a handful were "mad". Out of those handful only a couple really crossed the line on FB. Posted some pretty dirty stuff.
Eh... no biggie. They had their 15 minutes of outrage... :rolleyes

I'm still here to help when I can :cool

Does anyone happen to have a link to a good build thread for the romans anh? Perhaps on imperial arms? tia

Anyone know what tool is required to remove the brass pins? And the size of this tool?

Any tiny little hex driver should be fine I think. I used flat pliers on mine, though, and that worked too. Hex driver is probably the safer option, but I'm not sure exactly which size. Probably M1, or 1.5. They're tiny!
