Full sized dalek thingymabob

Ok y'all, I'm wanting to start building a full size dalek. Has anyone got a. any hints and tips on dimensions/build techniques etc and b. how much will it cost :confused Ideally want to build either a 2005 dalek, a renegade dalek or a Dalek Invasion of Earth Dalek

I'd start with a search of the forums here, there's a few really good builds on The RPF. I'm pretty sure that there's an entire other forum dedicated to Dalek builders, but I haven't been over there so I'd start with the forum search here. Lots of good info.

Good luck, hope to see you pull it off! I know I'd love a Dalek of my own one day lol.

What you want is Project Dalek Forum you will find pretty much everything you need over there, they have PDF's you can download depending on the era of Dalek you wish to build, myself I went for the 2005 NSD, once you join up you can download a PDF for your required one which has plenty of hints and tips, then you can also get a build manual which will cost about £5 it's really just to cover printing and postage, that will have all the measurements and template making info you need, as well as a step by step guide on building each part.

So with those two PDF's you will be set to go, there are a couple of full Dalek builds here at the RPF as said above but your best bet is to head there for the Dalek side of things and hang around here for the prop and costume stuff.

This is my build. I got the plans from Project Dalek Forum
Im on there as well. As any build take your time. Get an inch / cm measuring tape, that helps a lot. Cost , a lot. But you can do a budget build.

Hi guys
Stopped my dalek project when I realised I hadn't got the space, although I might make a scale model. On the topic of plans though, found this online. Is from the 70s, and all measurements are in mm, which helps a lot.

Is for a mk2 dalek, but could be modified to represent daleks from other eras as well

Nahhh... Keep going.

I find small props and models hard, the Dalek I built was the easiest thing I ever did!
Just take a little bit of time everyday, and the next thing you know, you will have your own Dalek roommate!

Dalek Cullenski, I wouldn't bother using those plans, they're from the 1973 Radio Times Dr. Who 10th Anniversary special. I've seen a few Daleks made using them, they are too tall, the necks are too "fat" and they look wrong (they're very conical in shape). You'd be better off going with the Project Dalek plans.
