Hi folks,
I really, really wish I could take credit for this piece but it's not mine, it was made by my girlfriend . It was her final piece for her modelmaking degree in university, she's just about to graduate. It's so awesome I just had to share it with you guys. It's constructed entirely of moulded fibreglass and resin with metal powders, the only part not made from scratch are the wingnuts around the hood which she cast from an original. The rest she spent weeks lovingly lathing, sculpting, sanding and filling before a back breaking moulding process. But it's come out so well, I'm so massively proud of her right now ! She's hoping to go into prop making either in London or the big studios like Pinewood, and with work this good I reckon she'll make it aswell. It would be great to hear what you guys think of it. Here are some pics:
If you're in or around london and would like to see it and her classmates work in the flesh, check out the New Blades 2010 show. Lots of industry people there and a great chance to look at some truly awesome models of all kinds.
