QUICK QUESTION
Does anyone know if the exterior seam on the upper and lower legs is a permanent attachment to keep that seam perfect or does the seam have an attachment (Velcro) and undo each leg section into two separate halves?


Hey Mimic,

I believe as you say the exterior seam is permanently attachment on both the thigh's and shin's.

In terms of screen accuracy I believe that the interior seam on both the thigh's and shin's use velcro to close.

Hopefully T5H or someone else can confirm this.

For my build with the kit from Jim I used heavy duty velcro for the internal seam on the shin's only. The thigh's have no opening seam so no velcro needed.

If it is proved that the thigh's use velcro on the internal seam is that your intention to replicate on your build?

Yes I'd like to keep as screen accurate as possible so If we could confirm that that's what's done I'll do so long as everyone is happy with that?

Yeah the new stormtrooper looks good! Like the new Helmet design! Hopefully Anovos bring out the ep 8 helmets before the films release! But on the down side to them... Postage is poor and wait time are to long! And when my TFA helmet arrived there was a dent in it! Custom fees were to high to send back and forth so I fixed it myself. Im gonna order the tatical vest from them and FO Tie outfit when ever they announce it!?

I gave up on anovos they delayed premier line. So standard is next.

They have a couple of Prem line left. But Ive heard they are not great for trooping in because of their weight. Forbidden planet has some TFA Helmets in but Ebay always there. What did they lie to you about if you dont min me asking? I talked to them at celebration in London about the TFA Tie armour and they said it will be out four to 5 months from the event. But nothing as of yet. And that was one of the big bosses I talked to.

All sounds good! The gaskets will take a month to make and ship and the tactical vest will come whenever Anovos bothers to ship it! :lol So it sounds like there could be a month and a half left on the armour?

Where are you in the UK, my wife has an auntie and cousins in brixham while I have my dad and step mum in fraserburgh plus a sister in peterhead.

I might have to try and arrange a visit and bring an empty suitcase over.
If I wear the costume I might be able to get away with having it as a new suit
I'll have to see how I go with my daughters school trip to Japan in 2019.

Oh wow lots of family over here... I don't believe a family from NZ moved to live in south England?? So you maybe left here to go over there? I know that would be my choice . We're in Manchester.

Oh wow, you must be a United fan, our family has always backed the Glasgow rangers.
Our family living is a long story, wife's family moved from UK to USA then to NZ.
So my wife is actually a yank, my dad moved out to nz back in the day and met my mum, i was born here in Wellington NZ, then mum and dad split, he went back to Scotland and I stayed here with mum. Long story.
Yes customs are always a challenge at times here.

They told me new kits would be the last jedi bucket and they aren't going to be.

Oh well press on this kit should be easy to strap up. I'm hoping it fits like my Shore trooper and I don't have to trim much.

Anovos Will probably do TLJ Helmets. Thats more their way to be honest. They can make and ship great helmets in time but not the rest of the outfit. They announce
stuff way to early before its release. Stupid...

Yes please, any more reference definitely do send me. You can never have too much.

as for the spats I'll be doing those soon, and my plan so far is a two part spat that velcros together over the lower leg once fitted.
