Finally got it done. Leslie Nielsen is going to be in town next month and I'm going to give him one. He'll either not remember it or just throw it out. :lol

Watching with interest, FP is one of my favourite movies. I remember sitting up til 2 in the morning to watch it, the VCR was busted and I had school the following day.....I don't think I fell asleep in class:lol

He might just remember! Years ago I saw him on Regis & Kathy whatever (don't ask me why I was watching those yahoos--it was just on, maybe I was waiting to see Leslie Nielsen). They were going over his past acting roles and Regis pulled out a black and white picture with a "ha-ha we caught you in some cheesy 50's flick" attitude.

Mr Nielsen's reaction was to gently put Mr Philbin in his place and point out that "Forbidden Planet" is actually a very highly regarded film, for it's day it had cutting edge effects (that really hold up), and that he enjoyed working with Walter Pidgeon. So I think (and hope) he's rightly proud of his connection to the film.

Anywho, I don't know if the symbol will be obscure to him or not but I think it would be a great tribute! I wish I could be there too :)

How can ANYONE not think FP is one of the COOLEST movies of all time...if I was Mr Nielsen I would have responded by handing Regis a picture of him (Regis) on his CURRENT gig....

I'd like to thank Karl for his help with the artwork. I should have said so from the beginning so Karl I am sorry, it's all part of the ******* that I am.

I'm sorry but I am making just 10 and will be giving them to friends. I don't want to make a bunch of these available here and on ebay and then see recasts all over the place.

Thank you for your kind words. I hope this piece inspires some of you to take some time and patience on a project of your own. You will find it worth the trouble...and perhaps in time, no trouble at all.

Aww nuts!!
But to be honest I can understand you concerns about re-casting scum....still they were nice.
