For gamers: what games would you like remade/updated?

Carmageddon (spent HOURS on that game)

Ascendency

Escape Velocity (fantastic simple game)

Definitely the X-wing series

Simcity - that series (which was so good) just died a quick horrible death after 4

Dark Forces - I agree. I'm tired of overpowered Jedi. I want to have to sneak around scrounging for ammo and having to worry about actually getting shot.

I'd like a realistic Zelda game, no more of these weird looking characters, make them more realistic.

Zelda games are getting worse and worse. Honestly I'd love an updated version of A Link to the Past with an overhauled engine using HD sprites and everything. In fact, re-releasing Zelda 1 and 2 using that same HD engine would be awesome too. I'd even be happy if they used the same engine they used for Four Swords Adventures on Gamecube, ya know, just in HD.

Enter your age | Carmageddon

New game in the works, by the original developers. I can't wait. I loved Carmageddon 1, the Splat Pack expansion, & Carmageddon 2. Carmageddon TDR 2000 was total crap though. Not much has been revealed of the new one, but seeing as how it's back in the hands of the original developers, I have high hopes.

I agree Nintendo can't even agree on the timeline for zelda and the character designs are so danged weird. Back in the 80s Link was an elf now he's some mutant forest pixie. At least mario is staying the same. Just found out there are more Mario RPGs out there.

Oh yeah, besides 'Super Mario RPG' on SNES, there was 'Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga' on Gameboy Advance, which was fantastic, 'Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time' on Nintendo DS, which was ok, and 'Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story' also on DS, which was by far my favorite of the three. I'd recommend playing all three, although there's really no correlation between the stories. 'Partners in Time' was definitely the weakest of the three.

Oh, and speaking of Zelda games, if you haven't already, Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap on Gameboy Advance is absolutely worth playing through.

Lol, you are correct. The online portion was horribly unbalanced at first, and I do remember the issue with everyone spamming the backwards stab. I also remember everyone spamming force push to toss people off the map and to their doom, which was especially aggrivating. After all was patched, it was much better, though I totally get your arguement with the three different stances. I honestly never even thought about that till now.

I didn't think it was that bad. I played a ton of CTF on that and Jedi Academy. I think there's room for improvement though. LucasArts seems like it's a publishing company now, they haven't made a game in forever. So I doubt we'll see a new one soon. Even though everyone is asking for it.

BTW when Jedi Academy came out, the cheap move was kick to the face then the strong style lunge attack for instakill. That was spammed like crazy.

Everyone seems to agree Link to the past is the best they made. I came up with an idea where the 2 timelines merge and it's a cyberpunk take on hyrule. Sort of Zelda meets Shadowrun and Deus Ex.

I mentioned this thread to my brother. His contribution, that I agree with 100%...
Terminator: Future Shock

Hear hear. If you're gonna do that, though, you should also do Skynet as a combopack.

Those games had a lot of potential, but man did the Bethesda engine SUCK.

Nice to see bethesda's quality hasn't improved lol. They release the glitchiest games in history and patch them as they go.

I have to say, I definitely agree with a lot of these games. Of course, I also have my own add-ons to the list. I know Sierra was mentioned, but not in more than its adventure games. The Dr. Brain games were fun to play. difficult at times, but still fun. The MECC games. All of them, not just Oregon Trail. Again, fun times were had by all. SimTower is one I'd like to see done in 3D.
