First timer FX saber build tips.

I've started looking into this as well and it is definitely a bit overwhelming to take all of the information in. The TCSS MHS Builder is fun to play around with to visualize what you want the saber to look like.

On Plecter Labs' website, they have owners manuals for some of the different sound cards that they sell and you can read through those to familiarize yourself with them.

My advice is to read, read, read before buying anything because it is not a cheap hobby. I've been looking at others' builds to see what parts, etc that they've used.

This was the first saber I built, many years ago back when I was an FX-Sabers Moderator. Sold it of course. Looking to do another. Chassis was made from aluminum tubes, poker chips, and an "Ultrasound" soundboard! Hi-Tech back in the day, LOL.
