Greetings to you all.

Recently I have started my first project, which is Midwestern brotherhood of steel power armour. i extracted 3d model from fallout 3 mod and started downscaling it using blender and metasequoia.

Materials that I use:

Cardstock 250g/m
Polyester resin
Polyester putty
Hobby modelling glue
80 to 300 grit paper if needed 3000 grit water paper
allot of time

Method: poly resin on top then "rondo" since i live in Poland i have to use substitute of bondo putty and poly resin. after that some poly putty

PS: After im done ill start preping classic M72 GAUSS RIFFLE

Welcome to another Brotherhood Knight!!! Good to have more Fallout fans!

Can't wait to see this build, man! Me and my buddy Cassius are doing all the Power Armor lids from Fallout 3, the Mid Western one from Tactics was not on our build schedule. So, I can't wait to see how yours turns out!

As for the Gauss Rifle, why not use the game model for that?

I will but i want it to be a shooting BB M72 airsoft gun and for that i need working base :p

so my plan is to strip working airsoft gun and then reinforce it with some resin, after reinforcing I`ll build pepakura model around it so i can use it as any other ASG gun

I hope that explains what i want to do:D

As for the armor i noticed that no one ever biult it. I`ve seen some atempts but none of them were finished

Anyway i started to glue my helmet and I`m 1/4 done:D it`s tricky in some parts as im not gr8 with pepakura and my unfold was a bit sloppy but hey the harder it is the more I learn :D

My bad, I`m sorry for that and edited

No worries, man. I like anything Fallout, and that's what I love about what you're doing here. Different branch of the same tree. :)

One thing that's always tough with F2 and F1 builds are those damn tiny icons. Very difficult, if not impossible on some, to get any good reference. I will say I can see the difference on the F2 version though, just checked out that mod myself. Looks good, should make for a damn nice prop!

Have you seen the New Vegas version yet?

I know you wouldn't be able to make it a working airsoft and make it light up like that, but I thought it looked pretty sweet!

Yes Sir :D and that`s the one I`ll try to make :D and since i like to fiddle here and there with soldering iron i think i could make it light up when shooting or even light up coil by coil from back to front:D

another thing is sound Would love it to make reload and shooting sound but that`s beyond my skills and knowledge

Hey could you post a pic of that M72? Upon further examination, it appears the one I looked up (for F3) is not any bit close to accurate to the original. The New Vegas one I posted above looks way more like the original, especially the muzzle prongs and the coils. And, depending one which icon your using as reference, it appears that it does light up like that, or at least the Tactics version looks to.

Also, it looks like the base for the Original Gauss was an AK-47, so I'd get an AK airsoft as the base and avoid the M16. You see it on the stock and grip mostly, it looks like a standard wood stock AK.

and yes original F3 Gauss riffle looks nothing like this one also it was converted to energy weapon that uses microfusion cells instead of 2mm EC

Yeah, I kind of see the resemblance to the Barrett, but it (the Tactics version) seems closer to an AK/RPK stock set. It's just that wood stock that screams AK wood to me. The original F2 version is definitely AK stock.

Also, interesting find on the Fallout Wiki...........the M72 rifle and the Gauss rifle are two different weapons, not an updated version of the other. The M72 is said to be of German make, while the Gauss from 3 is American, and was more set up to be an Advanced Sniper Rifle. I think the original line of thought from Fallout 2 was the Gauss was actually another form of energy "small arm", like the laser rifle, plasma rifle, ect.

But they are listed as two completely different weapons, using different ammo types.

I`ll make it look like wood my plan is to make it look as close to origina as possible basicly i`ll remove any part that feels wrong for it.

and yes originall was german made F3 was American made

and about weapon clasification F3 was pure energy weapon that used microfusion cells as forr classic F1,F2 and tactics: gauss wass designed to be most efficient conventional, non energy weapon, caseless sniper riffle which "bullets" are proppeled by electromagnetic coils :D in other words its a Coilgun
