Don't worry about rough edges or whatever on things like your buckle. For your first casting job it looks really good, and will fit the bill nicely. I always follow the "3 metre rule" of cosplay, which states that no matter how many inconsistencies and rough parts you can see up close because you MADE the item, if it looks good at about 3 metres then it's fine because that is about the distance that most photos are taken from at cons ;). Besides we're always our own harshest critics, I know myself I always see problems with my own work that other people either don't see or don't think are an issue. As for the paint remaining tacky, that could have something to do with humidity or the place you are painting them in. Maybe trying putting either a matte or gloss clearcoat over the top, depending on the type of finish you're looking for, and see if that gets rid of the tackyness?

Good luck with your build, I always enjoy seeing a good Black Widow :D.

I guess I am being super critical but it's hard not to when you see how amazing other people's stuff is, but I think deep down everyone's a little critical ov their own work! I like your way of thinking with the 3 metres, I'll have to make sure no-one comes any closer for pictures :p I'm not too disappointed overall though, it should all come alive when it's been put together which I'm excited for :D

Painted these false nails to go with my outfit so my Avengers crew are always by my side (minus Hawkeye)!

My costume is (almost) complete! Tried it all together for the first time today - needs some tweaking here and there though. One of the S.H.I.E.L.D patches isn't sewn on properly and the bites are SUPER tight and uncomfortable but I shall have to add in another 'bullet' to loosen them. I also haven't got the time to do anything to my boots so rather than attempting something and ruin them, I'm going to leave them plain for the time being. On the plus side, my holsters came and I'm really happy with them seeing as the UK doesn't particularly offer a great selection of gun related merchandise. But overall I'm pleased, hope you guys like it - more pictures to come on Saturday when I actually get to wear it! :D

guys i am using 20 mm black webbing to go around the boot and maybe the click buckles you can buy this will let me tighten them as needed to stop the moving down the boots or maybe a bit of hot glue to stick the webbing to the boots then just add the buckle at the end bits not glued down
