First Diorama Build-Derelict Star Destroyer

This was my first attempt at a diorama using materials that I have never tried out before and I am fairly pleased with the results. Started out with the Bandai Star Destroyer, painted it flate white, added pencil panel lines, then multiple coats of building up rust colors. I have never tried to replicate rust like this and would love some critiques and tips of how to get better. I used aluminum fol for the island, woodland scenics flock foam for the foliage, plaster over foam for the base, then woodland scenics realistic water tinted with tamiya clear paints for the ocean. There are some real rocks in there as well for extra details. I am still finishing up the white caps on the ocean and will post more pics soon. 20180223_090616.jpg20180212_005742.jpg20180212_005721.jpg20180212_005700.jpg20180324_105307.jpg20180324_105402.jpg
Please tell me what you think and if I can improve anything, I want to make more!

Hey S,

Fantastic job for your 1st attempt. You should be proud. The water looks great! :)

If anything, I would add some rubble (rocks, misc metal parts, etc) around the nose and underneath the SD to give the impression that a lot of debris was tossed up and around after impact. Other than... Well Done, my friend!

A few more in progress pics, first layer poured.

I like it! Has a real "sunken wreck" feel to it. Like some old fishing trawler sunken in the bahamas.

Hi the Water and the landscape looks great the stardestroyer has to much rust i think

Closer to finishing the water, might add a waterfall to the island...see how it goes at 1/14500 scale

Not bad indeed for a first diorama! Good job! I love dioramas :)

please don't take me serious I'm crazy :)

Thanks for the critiques, I haven't had much time to work on it recently but here are a few more angles, any suggestions on how to photograph small scale models to look much larger (up the white balance)?

Looks amazing. I echo SofaKing's comments and add a little more debris to really show the crash impact. But I love the terrain and water.
