Doing my best with limited data to build myself a First Contact Phasr Rifle.
The angles on this thing confuse the hell out of me.
Apologies for the bad pics. and If there Is anyone that could explain a few angle questions on this thing I would be very grateful...

Still very early and rough WIP...all comments and even criticisms more than welcome.

This looks pretty great, IMO. Looking forward to seeing the finished rifle. The rifle I have was out of the studio mold, so if you need any closeup pictures from different angles, let me know.

Thank you so much for the offer of help. I could really use pics of the trigger guard and grip area from a front and off front view if possible. like this. I would be totally grateful for the help. right now the trigger gourd is squared off. the sketch I worked with has It angled up and outwards In a triangle fashion. I don't trust the sketch. I want to totally wrap my head around all the angled corners of the grip before I go to town on this thing.

Again my thanks to you....

Sean.

Thanks for looking ladies and gentlemen...

That is quite the undertaking! Looks very good...

I have one that Roddenberry sold years ago which were made by HMS, the prop house that made them for the movies and can attest that yours is so very close.
I was at the LV Con this year and saw a few examples of ones made without the benefit of your eye for detail! :sick

Thank you very much guys. and I know Its asking a lot. time Is precious. but I could use some measurements to get this build a bit more precise. any help on this Is more than appreciated. and thanks again for the thumbs up. gotta go to hell now and break my back....ughhhh

Small pinch of an update. just going to make this one written. I can see my main problem is going to be getting the nose of this rifle just rite. looking at what I have and what is In the photos. my personal opinion is that my nose of the rifle Is a pinch too short. so I'm going to try and kill two birds with one stone. to me the nose flares out from the rounded end of the barrel. so I rounded out the ends of the barrel towards the center. and I loped off a piece of the front end and glued it to the back of the nose.

I want know if this works until I can get some bondo on the part and start shaping It. nothing big will happen until the weekends. jobs very draining.

hopefully I can show you guys some good progress then.

Edit. small side note. I would like to thank Scott from the trek prop zone. he helped me with some critical measurements to get the ball rolling on this thing.

Thanks Scott....

Later......

As I thought. the nose Is going to be a pain. and yes I start saturating wood way early with sandable automotive primer. the brand of bondo I'm Using Is supposedly made to go over primer. what the hell experiment. and I have to find some little something to get the ribs of the barrel right also. home made sanding block of sorts...
