Hi All,
I’ve been lurking for quite a while admiring everyone’s work and finally decided to take the plunge into the hobby as well as this community. Here are my first 3 builds as well as a 4thI currently have on the bench.
Build 1- Bandai Snowspeeder: My first model ever. I bought a cheap airbrush off of amazon and used it on this one. This was a very straightforward build. I attempted to lightly weather the model with only the help of a pen and a store bought enamel wash primarily because I hadn’t quite wrapped my head around all the other products/techniques quite yet at the time of this build. Didn’t turn out great but was a great learning experience.

Build 2- Bandai A Wing: Second model ever. This one I attempted to weather with oils as well as light the engines with LEDs. Well, the lighting went well however, the weathering ended up being much heavier than intended so I did my best to salvage it. I also learned not to mix Tamiya and Vallejo paints to make a color as it doesn’t spray well at all, lol.

Build 3- Bandai Y Wing: Getting braver here. Purchased a Badger and Iwata Airbrush for this one as well as a compressor with a tank. I attempted to implement more techniques I had read about here including paint chipping, oil wash, drybrushing, and paint fading. I was pretty happy with this one even though the weathering was a still a bit heavier than I intended (learning less is more sometimes, lol). This was the first model I completed that I was happy enough to purchase a display case for and currently have it on the kitchen island for display .

Build 4- Lando’s Millenium Falcon: Still on the bench. I’m attempting to use fiber optics, LED lighting, a custom base as well as dipping my toes in the world of matte and gloss varnishes. This ended up being a much more difficult project than I expected but it is turning out alright so far. WIP photos and a video of the flashing cockpit lights:

I didn’t attempt to make any of the ships “cannon” just triedto make something appealing to the eye and test out different techniques.
I look forward to all your questions, comments and critiques. Thanks for looking!
