You can finish up with one step if you're
good enough to float right over the cross
sections. I don't know if I am good enough
to do that....and I don't want to try! LOL
I just dig them out with a super sharp chisel
the styrene is soft it comes right out. Then
I just fill over them with the clay, it no so much the
amount you dig out in depth, but you want to make
sure you get the styrene dug out of the sides.Because
where you have 2 different mediums that meet there
is always an imbalance when your trying to sand it. Like
I said if you can sanded everything just over the cross
sections you don't have to worry about it. I like it this way
because when I am sanding I can see all the original surface
between the cross sections when it becomes flush ......your
done.
