Meeehh I still hold by my original statement. I'll probably have to eat my words once it's under primer though haha
I for one respect your opinions! I'm not one to defend another's work too often especially when the awesomeness and epicness of that work speaks for itself. But I will say that Michael has made his intentions of this build clear that is to have fun with this build.Clearly the ILM builders did an outstanding job picking those parts. Just about everything looks like it belongs compared to most ANH models. I think Michael has catured that feel. The only thing missing are the parts that do not sit flat on the model such as the 312B Hood or whatever Michael creates to mimic those parts. I totally dig this build! It's the mix of raw talent and boldness to put this much work into a model and not be bothered my accuracy that amazes me! Michael is in the same league as Lasse! The creativity that inspires is the key!

It's all good let it go....LOLWell I must thank you for being more eloquent about it and respecting my opinion
I was thinking about it actually, I realised that busy wasn't the word I meant...it's more that at first, Michael's kitbashing seems a bit haphazard (of course no kitbashing is though)
but then I figured that actually so were all the OT models, the difference is that when you start studying the models then you understand all the little parts and what kits they came from. You no longer look at it just as cool engine bits, you become kind of trapped into seeing them as where they came from.
Man I dunno what my point even was...I think it was just that I missed the real essence of what he's doing maybe..?
Are you going to put R2 anywhere on the ship?..... it would be a cool homage to Star Wars. I even saw clips on Youtube where R2 was CG'd into a debris field on Star Trek: Into Darkness. It seems to be a trend that dates as far back as Close Encounters.![]()
