thank you guys! i've done a bit more work on him in the last couple days, still no damn P1 shoulder bell, but thanks to anyone who has looked and had any feedback to give
but ROB, i've decided to remove the neckring you'll be happy to know
doesn't look bad at all IMO, i think borgs just looked weird cause of his bulky chest armor undersized his neck, but hippie looks much better without it, so thanks for the nonchalant subliminal messages man
pics of the final deal coming soon, i don't care if i have to sculpt that damn shoulder bell MYSELF!!!

Very clean and detailed work there! It looks so good in fact, that I decided to build my suit inspired by the Hippie!

hey guys, probably the last update on this figure, cause i believe it's finally finished!
i finally got a pic of hippie from the front that i didn't even know existed till a week ago! dammit! anyhow, as for the missing P1 shoulder bell? well i said if i didn't find the one i was looking for around here, that i would sculpt one myself if i had to, and dammit that's just what i did, TWICE!!
the first one i made, fired, painted and applied to the figure looked way "big" hot toys pred shoulders are a little big anyway so that just wasn't working. after a day or two of looking at it on my shelf i realized that i was gonna have to go through it all over again cause i'll be dammed if im gonna try so hard to make this thing and then "settle" for the shoulder bell i made, so last night i sculpted another, sitting in front of my cpu looking at screen shots of hippie instead of trying to duplicate my hot toys P1 shoulder bell (which is where i messed up to begin with) and out came a much better version, i am happy to say
and yes i know the color is a bit different than the rest of his armor, but that was done on purpose since it looked that way to me in the movie. but if anyone has any evidence to the contrary feel free to show me and i'll match em back up, but i actually think it looks good like that, just adds a little more range in color.
and as i said before, the neckring is gone, and since i got that frontal shot, i could see what is supposed to go around his neck, which is another piece of that unknown black material that he has all over him, along with a couple of those little talon looking ornaments that the P2 has on his (which i will eventually try to take care of).
so here is the HIPPIE PREDATOR in all his finished-ness hope you guys enjoy! please feel free to express any gripes or non-gripes you may have
first is a pic or two of the shoulder bell by itself to show i'm not pullin any legs...
and then with everything all together...
well i hoped you guys like the improvement, and as some might have noticed i still have one tiny thing to do which would be his eyes, kinda intimidated is the only reason i haven't yet but i will don't worry .
anyway, thank you so much to everyone that has looked and had any feedback to give, i know it's just a toy, but i've worked really hard on it so i hope you all can appreciate it .
and i thank any of you in advance for anything that has yet to be said about him, this is my hippie pred and i really tried to do him justice, not just for me but the whole community, i think we all agree he deserved it

Dan that is killer! Detail is amazing, great job on the shoulder bell. Gonna steal that idea. There's a figure on Ram's right side just barely showing his arm, looks like a custom... pics?

well thank you sir! but for the arm you see is actually the one and only kit that i have owned and painted (long before i had an airbrush) and it is actually a huntress of some kind , can't remember what her proper name is, but i do plan to give her a rehashing ( is that a word?) but anyway thanks man! i expect that lost thread of yours to be updated soon too buddy, so hop to it!

WOW!!!! Hippie is indeed killer. I also like your Gort and Ram. Any future plans on re-doing the P2 elder's dreads to grey like in the movie? Can't wait to see your next lost hunter, maybe Snake? I noticed you said the P2 mandibles fit the P1 head. Love to see that one come alive! Keep up the good work.

thank you man! and yes the elder, as soon as i get up the nerve to disassemble him, will be almost entirely redone to be more accurate (skin came way too yellow, spotting, dreds, even the armor color was not paid attention to when they made him) and yes i have plans to make the SNAKE very soon, the gort you see is just a custom that happened to have a gort bio(with added laser sight
, but he may end up with some adjusting to fit his movie counterpart, just depends on which parts i have/can get to make who. already have almost everything i need for the boars brothers, but don't worry in time i will get to them all thank you for the kind words friend
seriously, i feel like i can finally contribute a little something to this forum of badass sculpters, painters, and artists, and it feels pretty good cause all i seem to get for it at home is "you and your ******* predators!" so it is very rewarding. don't get me wrong, my wife understands the link, and can appreciate it all to a short extent, but she just thinks i spend a little too much time thinkin about um,anybody FEEL ME!!??

I guess you don't have to worry about Gort no more! Hot toys has done it again. I hope they add another trophy skull and some new acessories, liking the rebreather! I say the next one you should do is Snake!

Oh absolutely! But, before I get into that I must say that is one hell of a job well done!! That really came together, and way to go on sculpting up the P1 shoulder bell. It looks great! All of the effort is evident by the amount of detail you put into it. From the paintwork down to all the leather and cloth bits. I am sad to see it finished though, because I'm gonna miss checking up on your progress. You've totally inspired me to get back to work on my figures! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
So, which hunter is next, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
I know how you feel. I get it all the time at school. "What's it with you and the Predator?" Then when I get home, it's: "Why don't you draw a house, or paint a flower." No? What kinda sucks is, that I'm the only one out of my group of friends that's into this kinda stuff. So, I don't really have anyone to relate to except on here. I would, just once, like to bring a girl home and not hear "Wow, what the **** is wrong with you?" Or my FAVORITE - "How old are you?" Actually, both of those statements could be taken way out of context, but I'll just run with that.

i'm so glad to say i am actually done, and dammit, i am never painting a single thing on this pred again! but obviously he couldn't go on without eyes, so i finally got the nerve to put some tiny brushes into those tiny eye sockets.
and lee i kinda used your bust again for the basic color of the eyes since i liked it so much
but here he is, couple more pics and i'll put this thread to rest, thanks guys! i really appreciate all the feedback!!
you guys rock! without the encouragement i doubt i would have the drive to finish the task of making the rest of the lost hunters, so you all are the ones keepin me goin!
i've already been moving on to my next repaint, which isn't a totally new character but an entire rehashing of the great one that stands in the middle of my shelf i'm almost done so stay tuned! and i will be quickly moving on to...hmmm.... we may just have to see (not to be a dick, i just really don't know, but i'm ready to go on at least two others

Absolutely terrific stuff Dan, your Hippie and Ram were the inspiration and kick I needed to start repainting my lost hunters.
So now the race is on as to who get the lost hunters all done and posted 1st... your lethal stuff or my repaints(thank f*ck they're being repainted)
I'm gonna wait til they're all repainted before I unveil them... but I think I'm 3-2 up in regards to completed figures
