Finished Boar Helmet(Pictures)

attemp and pray, i like that, also when you do the how to would be of great help, cause i dont know how you do the bio and mask molds

Lookin' great Gene. Another quality piece from Hormone Studios! Just curious as to why you would use that poisonous fiberglass when you could use the new and improved Plasti-Paste which is inert unless you eat it.

finally saw the vid lol... looking good. crazy of u to stomp on other bio! BAD! lol. jk. looking forward to updates :)

Yea, turns out that Youtube deleted the video due to copyright infringement, I used a copyright Song in the video.... I will make a new video and Post It Here in the next week or so.

Plasti Paste is good stuff! If I had the hundred bucks to buy it I would have. I had the cheap fiberglass already in my shop it cost me nothing when I bought it months ago. So I figured with the spell of warm weather we had I should use it and save some cash.

Under normal circumstances Plasti Paste is the 10000% way to go. Unless you can find fiberglass cheap and use it outdoors in warm weather.

Pros and Cons for both.

have you seen smooth on new two part putty epoxy for casting or mothermolds? that stuff would be sooooo awesome to use for mother jackets.

http://www.smooth-on.com/a112/NEW-Free-Form=-Epoxy-Putty/article_info.html

well damnit, Brad beat me to it. but at 77 bucks a gallon that'd be an expensive mother jacket.

HA! You'll beat me next time, Daman...

Compared to Plasti Paste, though, it falls in line pricewise. The putty is a 1-gal kit, so 1 gal of both parts, for a total of 2 gallons, whereas the $88 Plasti-Paste II is a 1A:2B kit, and the original is the same ratio at $65...

i thought 1 gallon meant you got two half gallon buckets that make a gallon when combined.

depends on the product and the distributor ...just ask for the specs and you will know what you are getting. The smooth-on product is very cool by the way and has a bunch of great applications for mold making ..especially if you are doing silicone prosthetics. Gene ..I got to this thread too late bro ..now Im way curious as to whats on that workbench of yours

Here you go George! I have edited the Youtube video, with ADDED video and a non-copyright protected song. (lets hope)

Enjoy, watch all the way to the end..... SPECIAL surprise!

THE DEFINITIVE BOAR HELMET

Thanks for looking guys. I am going to outline the process I went through when I have some more time.

Happy Thanksgiving!

According to the pic on their site, the 1 gal pails look to be the size of the pails I got for the Rebound 25. Though, they could be fooling us by having little people hold the pails in this particular photo, ;) I am planning on hitting up Reynold's tomorrow for some more latex, so I'll see if they have any in stock and get a definitive answer (I'll totally forget...).

Gene, the video turned out awesome and the revised mask is just plain STELLAR!

Speaking of.... I am trying to figure out which Silicone I want to mold this in. Any suggestions and reasons why?

I am used to the Mold Max 30 stuff for other items.

I am buying it tomm and pouring the mold over Thanksgiving break. I will check this thread from my phone at work and then buy the materials.

Thanks for any help DUDES!

can't help ya man, i have only used monstermakers silicone. but i love it. have done 3 molds with it now, and they have all turned out great.

I used rebound for my custom bio . Once mixed it's thin enough for beauty coats and block molds. After a few minutes it's brushable or you can add a thickener for quicker use. Its also self degassing. A lot of pluses I really enjoyed.

I've only used brush-on, so I'm of no use either. Hopefully George chimes in with a recommendation. I though I had bookmarked his recommendation, but I'll be damned if I can find it in my links. All I can remember off-hand is that he high-pours it (Useless and DUH!), lol...

wow!! that is just phenomenal!
I'm goingto blame you if the family asks why there was no presents for them this year.
"what do you mean no presents??"
"did you check out that boar bio under the xmas tree?"
Now thats a present!
LOL

out with the old, while the first one was a nice version of the boar i know you always wanted it to be as accurate as possible...
mission accomplished bro!! i'm happy for ya

sculpt is detailed to the 9's and video sweet as all hell.

the ending is the best part
