Fine Molds Star Destroyer? (merged threads)

Re: Are these new Star Wars Fine Molds models?

Some appear to be old releases, i.e. x-wing, falcon, y-wing, ties, but there also appears to be a lot of new stuff! Star Destroyer, Ti-di shuttle, A-wing, B-Wing, AT-AT, AT-ST...I really hope these are upcoming releases. I'm salivating over here!

Re: Are these new Star Wars Fine Molds models?

I don't think these are all new Fine Molds models. The Speeder Bike and Imperial Shuttle look exactly the same as the old MPC kits. I think this is more of a model display table which just happens to include some of the Fine Molds offerings.

The SD kit is certainly not a re-release of another model. :)

Re: Are these new Star Wars Fine Molds models?

Lot of interesting things. But I agree... some pieces look like the AMT/ERTL stuff...

But what's that R2 in the last picture and is there any more details?

Re: Are these new Star Wars Fine Molds models?

From what I can gather............the Ertl pieces are there just for detail comparisons. That is the Fine Molds booth. :)

Re: Are these new Star Wars Fine Molds models?

I see 2 star destroyers, one looks to be the size of the old MPC but way more detailed and accurate, but there's a photo showing another one that looks like at least 24"

In the last picture of the SD showing a closeup of the Blockade runner it looks like theres holes drilled for lights.Didn't notice the larger SD until I read GF's post,They both look pretty nice.

How about these photos from the FM booth at celebration Japan that were posted over at Rebelscum? Vaderdarth saw them earlier and gave me a heads up. Is this old news? Looks pretty cool, albeit disappointingly small just like the rest of their stuff, about the same size as the Falcon next to it, maybe a bit larger.

Re: Fine Molds Star Destroyer?

Looks great but seems the same size as the old MPC,

Did you see this photo, seems to be at least 24" when compared to the book

Re: Fine Molds Star Destroyer?

Too bad Bandai never got the SW license and do some lit up SW capital ships, I have both enterprise Star Trek models, they are spectacular with the light effect, they come fully prepainted and super detailed, very well engineered, I'm not a Star Trek fan but when I saw these models I had to get them.

It does look bigger in that pic GF. The detailing is great, should be a terrific kit, I was just thinking the scale would be hard to capture at that size but it may be just fine. I've also wanted to get some of the Bandai Trek kits just because they're so awesome looking lit, but I keep losing every auction on them.:lol

Re: Fine Molds Star Destroyer?

I`m really sorry to do this to you guys but I too thought they were Finemolds models. After a little resaerch I found that the smaller Star Destroyer is a AMT\ERTL\MPC rebuild. Here`s a link and if you scroll to the bottom of the page you can go backwards through the pages to see his build in progress.Alot of the other models are the same type of build-ups as this and NOT finemolds stuff.:confused

It really is an insanely detailed build-up and I only wish I had half that guys talent. :confused

Cheers,

Re: Fine Molds Star Destroyer?

What about the larger SD? That's the one most of us are really intersted anyway.

Re: Fine Molds Star Destroyer?

I was very sceptic about an injected kit of the ISD, but I have to admit the big and the smaller look really great ! Could grab some of them !
And the tiny AT-ST and AT-AT are awesome !
