Final Words on the Foam Cryocan! Important Jurassic Park info inside

Re: Screw Rylo and his Cryocan! Important Jurassic Park info inside

Which label design? Retro or novo?

You would be the first I would call!! :lol

Tell me I didn't miss anything like that in our neck of the woods!?!

Now that I think of it; perhaps I did go to something like that which pretty much would explain my trouble recalling all the details.

Original. Like Rylo said, they were behind the new cans.

I had one of nicksdad's cans but sold it. JP is like Hellboy for me. Loved the movies, but the props just don't do much for me.

Re: Screw Rylo and his Cryocan! Important Jurassic Park info inside

There are delays with my foam cryocan. I started cutting the barbasol can and after the first few cuts, a genie popped out and offered me 3 wishes. One of my wishes was for more space in my prop room, so the freaking tricky bast--d goes off and starts shrinking everything. Now my lifesize stormtrooper is only 1/3 the size... ARGH

Re: Screw Rylo and his Cryocan! Important Jurassic Park info inside

Someone's gonna step on R2, dude!

Re: Screw Rylo and his Cryocan! Important Jurassic Park info inside

Damn Genie shrunk my lifesize r2 too... :angry

on a more serious note: Yes I purposely put trip hazards all along the way in front of the paths of my children. It find it toughens them up a bit faster.

Looks a little short for a Stormtrooper. And you have a LOT of Shankara stones.

Re: Screw Rylo and his Cryocan! Important Jurassic Park info inside

I just found 3 of the original cans today at my local Safeway in front of dozens of the new cans. They are the 10 oz cans of course, but it looks like you can currently get 11 oz cans on Ebay. Only $13 for 2 doesn't sound too bad to me.

Re: Screw Rylo and his Cryocan! Important Jurassic Park info inside

Better PM the sellers first. Most of them are using recycled pics. Again, the cans are worth nothing without a cryo rack to stick in them. The 10 oz cans are the exact same size as the 11. Only the net contents changed.

Re: Screw Rylo and his Cryocan! Important Jurassic Park info inside

So, I guess people have realized after 4 pages that I was JOKING. (Some of you didn't and SHAME on you). I will reiterate, we're on the Replica Prop Forum, our goals are to make exacting replicas of props that have appeared in movies or tv shows. "Exact" is a tough standard, but one that does not elude those who are dedicated enough. i should have been shamed, and ridiculed through my teeth when I posted pics of my foam cryo. People should have chimed in saying that it was the worst piece they have ever seen.

Regardless, Rylo and I are buddies to the point where, hopefully, personal jabs are okay. Y'know the point in a relationship where I neither want to screw him in a bad way or screw him in a good way. :lol When Rylo called me in a panic, after realizing that someone did not, in fact, die, he explained his situation to me. Old barbasol cans were going extinct, and he needed to finish this last run. I asked if it would be possible to just place a sticker on top of the new can, but that suggestion was met with a distinct grunt. He's would not stoop so low as to make his prop one step further from the original prop.

He had already scoured his neck of the woods, driving 8+ hours a day hitting up every mom & pop drug store, pharmacy, and cute barely legal asian cheerleader's house along the way. The dedication was pretty incredible, and slightly contagious. I decided that I would help out a little and look around my neck of the woods. I don't produce props, but I'll be damned if I let those on the last run of cryocans suffer too. So I started to look as well and after a few days, here's my haul for you folks.

Now he has enough to complete the run. Yay. Viva la RPF!

What exactly will happen to all the cream inside? You should go on a hobo shaving spree.

Re: Screw Rylo and his Cryocan! Important Jurassic Park info inside

I would think not. Though they could easily be.

It was the weirdest thing, on these exhausting trips to search for barbasol, he would drive up to these houses and emerge an hour or so later with a smile on his face. I assumed it was because he found more cans. I mean, what else could it be right? :p

(and yes, this entire thread has been me giving him a hard time because at the end of the day, the bast--d made me go out and look for shaving cream cans)

By the way, round of applause for Rylo for keeping the standards high here :thumbsup

It gets dehydrated and compacted to sell to foam builders. Search Iron Man foam.

Well, I just scored an original can at the Walgreens across the street from my job. Now to go find some foam.

By the way, I hate to waste money, so if anyone wants the shaving cream inside, let me know and I'll ship it in a bubble mailer for you, just pay shipping!

Ha!, funny. I scored 6 more at Walgreens and 2 more at Fred Meyer. The Fred Meyer ones are noticeably faded, but I still bought them. So it is true, as noted by someone earlier, that the red color fades in light over time. It would be a good idea to cover your precious Rylo (or other) prop cans if not being actively displayed. My Barbasol can stash is now 11, 2 of which are faded. I guess I'll try to get 12 unfaded ones and stop (if I can). I actually don't know what I am going to do with these, I just like the hunt. But I will use the shaving cream, so no loss.

I have never gone shaving cream shopping in my life (I shave with facial soap), but I may just have to go out and try my luck for a retro Barbasol can.
