That's looking super sweet. I like the shading and that golden/bronzed metallic look to them. I can imagine the sculpt being a real PITA to paint... but you certainly did great! :thumbsup

Thanx fellas! The Aliens are approx. 1/6th scale. Maybe a tad bigger, but it's hard to tell w/ Takeyas sculpts.

I airbrushed most of the detail on the kit w/ Lifetone / Freestyle aurbrush ready acrylics, and drybrushed oils for the raised tubing. It doesn't give you the grainy effect acrylics sometimes give.

As for the domes......ancient Chinese secret. :angel

Seriously, I first based them in a light beige and sealed them w/ Krylon Matte. Once this was dry, I sprayed on some Golden Trans. Shading Gray over the top, and let it dry for a bit. Using some alcohol on a ratty sponge, I sponged the paint until it broke up into patterns I was happy w/. The sealer protects the paint underneath from this step. You still want to be careful as too much of the alcohol work will eventually break things down. Once that was dry, I enhanced the look w/ some more transparent paint over the top of the work done, and airbrushed more detail on the heads to tie it all together.

Hope that made sense!
