Awesome work Rick as always. Sorry I missed out on this piece, look for it occasionally but haven't seen one in years.

:eek That is just amazing... truly beautiful work.

If I may ask, what type of clearcoat did you use? Looks awesome!

D48 - I used Krylon Triple Glaze in a rattle can for the gloss. Be careful w/ it though...it likes to run.

Rev - The lower jaw opens and closes, and the tongue is capable of sliding in and out.

That looks more like Giger's original Alien art work than his own 3D sculptures did!!! Very nice. That is by far one of the coolest I've seen.

What is the size of that sculpt? it looks life sized to me. :)

The carapace just looks incredible, under the sheen it looks organic, not like a painted effect to me. From the pictures this looks like one of the best paint jobs I've ever seen here or anywhere. Awesome work, thanks for sharing. (y)thumbsup

Thanx again fellas!

Rev - The engineerin to allow the jaw to move and the tongue to slide was damn cool.

Vaderdarth - It's about 20" tall and the head measures about 18" long. Not life-sized...more like 1/4 scale?

Is that sculpt by Takayuki Takeya? Excellent work, he has a unique vision of the creature, very elongated and elegant.

I have the "Alien Pile" statue, very sweet as well
