Fett Pre-Prod. Blaster - Grip & Stock FOUND

Great find, here´s another pic for reference:

prepro.jpg

But at the white Fett in Post #5 there is a red knob at the handle in the "wrong direction" :eek and the barrel looks different to the other PrePro-shots... like a Graflite-flash-gun

What do you think, guys ?

tk2647 - that's the "half-crouch" image I had in mind. I still hadn't found it, but yours is much, much better than what I had anyway. That's also a slightly better view of the white Fett image. That's not a red knob; they've attached the grip to the stock backwards (and it does appear to show a red button, unlike my black one). How they managed to get it backwards, I have no clue, because the thing has a big circular "key" in the bottom of the stock/top of the grip. It's not deep, so it could be done, but it's kind of hard to miss.

I don't know about the barrel in that shot being a Graflite, but I'd started thinking "tripod leg." I think I prefer the other version in the larger picture anyway.

The barrel is the same in both pics. There are a few pics in Chronicles that show the blaster unpainted and the barrel is black and silver like that.

Thanks, Chris. That's good to know. Wish I had a copy of Chronicles about know...

Anyway, here are some slightly better pics.

And here's one that shows how a camera goes on the stock (huh, who'da thunk it?):
[attachmentid=9163]

It's actually not a very good stock IMO for these lenses. It would be necessary to raise the camera up to get it to the eye; probably best to let the stock point downward to do that. The lever feels like it's not clamping the ball well enough though.

Now I really need one of these...sigh. :lol

Great find, and thanks for sharing it. I don't imagine it'll be easy to get one, but it helps to know what you're looking for.

Hello,

Great Find.. Thank you for posting the great pics. Very helpful indeed.

If it is not asking too much I was wondering if you could possible post some dimensions? or pics with a scale? I'd love to do some blueprints to add to the Star Wars Weapons collection and as with all my other drawings I would post them for all to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Alan

Alan,

I was planning on posting some pics with some dimensions, eventually. I'm a bit tied up right now with (over)work, and I've got a church video to edit in my spare time (HA.) if I can get the computer to co-operate, but hopefully within a week I'll have that tied up. I'd thought of drawing up the grip/stock myself using Illustrator, but that's more long-term. I'll try to at least post some key dimensions soon.

tk, nice statue. If the actual prop had had a grip that looked like that, I'd probably prefer it over the Webley version.

Jim

Thanks I'll keep an eye out for your post. If you want I can send you a copy of the CAD file once I have it drawn up. I believe that Illustrator can handle both DWG and DXF file formats.

Looking forward to the dim.

Thank you for sharing your find..

The shoulder pod you`re looking for is model number #6004 but single parts were availble also.

Here you go :

Kaiser # 6001 hand grip (pistol grip)
Kaiser # 6003 shoulder stock
Kaiser # 6004 hand grip & shoulder stock

Actually the release button was orange or red on the early models - later black as on your found.

Allways good to keep 30 years old catalogs in my store LOL

Good luck guys .

And no, Kaiser don`t have any spares or parts

This is an awesome find.. :thumbsup

Now if the barrel portion can be identified that would be great. :)

Well I could resist taking a shot at some blueprint based on the photos that were posted. Once some real dimensions get posted I'll revise them.

I'm not even in the market for Fett stuff and I think this is so cool.

Now if we can just locate the original Sandtrooper backpack radios and manifold intake device.

Hello,

I finished these drawings a while ago and forgot to come back and post them. Don't know how many
folks are interested in this particular subject, but here they are.

The blueprints are intended to be printed out on 11" X 17" paper with a .25" boarder. If you don't have
access to a printer that can handle 11" X 17" I suggest going to someplace like Kinkos to get them printed
full size. Just Download the PDF file below to get the full size version.

So take a look let me know what you thing and if you end up building one please post it.

Alan

Here is the link to the PDF file of a complete set of detailed drawings, suitable for scratchbuilding:

Man, I'd forgotten about this thread. Alan, those are great drawings, but there is a detail missing that is hard to glean from the photos. You're showing the grip as straight up and down, but it does have some slope; the bottom is slightly farther forward than the top.

I'll really try to get some measurements. I've had a lot of stuff going on at work and home (including three crashes over two computers since I started this thread, ulitmately necessitating the construction of a new computer), and this just simply got thrown on the back burner.

Alan, are you working in Illustrator, by any chance? If I didn't lose the drawing I started of the grip, I can send that to you to incorporate.

Jim
