Fett Jetpack help needed.

Well, after years of this thing laying around in pieces, I've finally decided to assemble my old BradleyFett jetpack. I've got the side tanks attached, The main vertical PVC pipe inserted and I'm working on a harness system now with a one inch thick wood dowel crossbar.

But I'm not planning to completely close off the back, however.

So my question is this: Is there a foam type filler I can use inside the main body, to add some additional strength/rigidity to the styrene shell?

Something that will be:

1) light
2) inexpensive
3) non-toxic
4) not warp or damage the styrene

I know I can post over at the Dented Helmet as well, just thought I'd try here first.

:confused

Absolutely- i have the model # at home but Silpak carries all kinds of differet density foams for great prices too. The tricky part is that a little goes a very long way!

Great Stuff??? Costs $3 a can at home depot. If you're careful and don't go nuts with it, you can edge pretty well and still leave a cavity if you want workspace inside the backpack or a place to store things.

I didn't put anything inside mine. It's sturdy enough as it is, and now I can put my lunch in there!
